Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

I keep forgetting to tell you, I love the new countdown ticker. :thumbsup2

I'm just now joining you... I have only read the first post but with tears in my eyes I have to say, "Life is too short" and I love what you have written so far. So I will catch up even if work has to wait a minute. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'll be making some changes to it...need to fix the cruise one which bums me out (the speckles) but have an exciting update to one of the others!

Hey! Nice card!!! I don't make mine really, just take a photo myself and add it to cards! Looks great!

You got some great plans coming up! I hear you on not much time for DIS lately.. I have been buried too. BUT I am also anxious to hear about some changes to your Tickers!!!! ;)

While killing time today waiting on coworkers to deliver information so I can get my job done (which they've not done yet which means I will be working tonight) and though I really "should" be doing more practical things, instead I decided to look around for information for our April DCA trip.

I thought I'd get an idea for dining, figure out if I needed to make any ressies ahead of time (and wow, it's a little frustrating, just not near the info that their is for the World but I digress)

Instead

I found something exciting!

Something magical

Something

UNEXPECTED!

It's no Epcot

BUT.....

We will be at Disney's California Adventure during...

Their Food and Wine Festival!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
oh and did I say

:cool1:

I am entirely amused to find out there is a Walker Landing section!

So my tentative day plans(and I welcome input...Jordan!) are...

Day 1. Check in, Beach, possibly some pool time, dinner at DTD HOB
Day 2. Probably DCA but it will be Sunday and the first weekend of the food and wine festival. Not sure if we are better off going Monday instead but figure the boys will be antsy to hit it. Lunch at the F&W festival, Taste Pilot's Grill, Dinner at Wine Country Trattoria, DCA. Very excited to see the Aladdin Show, the updated Electrical parade and the new World of Color! Hopefully it won't be running behind. Tough part is not really knowing when to try and eat dinner so we don't miss the electrical parade and I think I will need ressies given the festival...
Day 3. Beach. Breakfast at Jeff's long beach "dive", dinner at Jordan's Mexican recommendation
Day 4. Knott's Berry Farm. Johnny Rockets for lunch, Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant at the Marketplace for dinner.
Day 5. Half day at the beach and head home

Hopefully the mid April weather will be warm enough for that much beach time! If not...the MK is right there lol! That will be one of those things Jeff will have to suggest on his own or if the boys wear him down. I'm not going there :goodvibes

Next....a new spreadsheet

Bleh!! Another report I was behind on! Stupid busy holidays!!!

I love your christmas card!! Triple P is right, it's beautiful and you tool the time to make it!!! That's what counts! You put your heart and your talent into it!

:cool1::banana: How excited are you that it F&W at CA?! Fun, fun, fun!! I bet it will be fabulous!!

Your plan looks great and I think you guys are going to have a blast!!! Do you want me to pray for a day or 2 of chilly weather so you can go to MK instead of the beach ;)

Believe it or not. I haven't done the Food and Wine at DLR since I no longer have a AP.

There are over 800,000 AP holders which make weekends a zoo. Weekdays at the parks are more manageable although are you going around Easter. The week of Easter and the week after Easter are historically pretty busy at the parks.

More info as needed.....

I hear you on the busy. BLEH! Happy busy (most of it) but crazy!

1 chilly day would be good. I'd like a beach day though myself!

Plans sound great!!! Are you meeting Jordan??????

I sure hope so!

Well gee, you might need to hit DCA for a day lol! No real info out on it yet and I'm guessing there won't be until Feb or so.

We actually won't be there at Easter. Easter is 4/4 and we aren't there until 4/17....

But I think we should probably flip the Knott's and the DCA dates, hopefully if we do DTD the first night that will appease the E's and then we can "end" with DCA which would be cool. Once Park hours come out we can try to figure out what works for you to meet up :goodvibes

Ahhhhhh, memories of Knotts! We used to go there once in a while JUST for chicken dinner. Yeah, it was an hour and 15 away, but it was soooo good!! Do they still serve the dinner with rhubarb crisp??

Loved me some Montezuma's Revenge. That was the loop roller coaster, not what you got from the Chicken Dinner, BTW.

Sounds like a plan! Can't wait to meet up!

Me too!

I mean US too!

:goodvibes

I have the BEST memories of Knott's as a child. The log ride and the chicken dinner. Oh the biscuits! But in MY memory it is...

Apple Pandowdy.

to beat all Apple Pandowdy's.

or cobblers

or crips

or even, dare I say...

PIE!

It will be WEIRD to have to go out of the park to get the chicken dinner! And yet I can't imagine NOT getting it!

Will it live up to my childhood dreams or will it be like my second trip to Venice...when all the magic had gone...

and I cried..

So much pressure to put on a chicken dinner! Fried of all things. And Jeff doesn't "do" fried! He has chicken skin issues.

Tough I say.

STOP! STOP, I SAY!!

Yes! The log ride!! Remember the House of Mysteries?? I used to think that was so cool. And making sand sculptures in bottles. and, and, and....

Yeah, that's a lot of pressure on a chicken dinner. It'll be a lot of fun with your kids! It might even make up for some lack of delivery in the expectation dept.

The Winchester Mystery House in San Jose?

We went there a couple of years ago, Jeff's folks live right outside San Jose so we did that whole area...San Fran, Santa Cruz, Monterey.....

It was a trip! I forgot how HUGE that place is!

In my mind...that log ride is better than splash. We will see if it really lives up to that!
