I have never been to neither one of places, would love feedback to which one is better, Going in September staying at Port Orleans Riverside, First time on Disney Property. Thanks

We love Crystal Palace! We're also doing Liberty Tree Tavern for the first time during our September Trip.

I really can't think of any negative things to say about Crystal Palace. Only maybe when it's really crowded it can take quite a while for all the Characters to visit. But, that's completely understandable. Last year, we only saw Eeyore and we left right after that (he's really all I care about--and our Kids are kind of over the Character thing, sadly.)

Yikess!!!:crazy2: I know I'll get a lot of negative criticism, but quite honestly,I didn't enjoy neither.

Both were extremely salty .. If I had to choose one, then for sure it would be LTT. Just because of the time period...I love anything (early American), so it was themed well. The food to me , just meh.

There are a ton of choices to choose from, but if you go to one of these 2 I'm sure your experience will be totally different. Enjoy!:thumbsup2

B.T.W.--->:welcome: to the Disboards.

We will be at Port Orleans Riverside in Sept as well. I choose LTT because I am a big turkey & dressing fan. The toffee cake and boston creme pie dessert are very good as well.

Its easy to decide. They are so different. It really just depends on what you want.

A) Buffets with many options
B) Turkey Dinner served at your table

Im from New England so a restaurant resembling LTT is on every corner around here, so I opt for CP.

I've been to both. I prefer to avoid character meals and buffets so LTT wins for me in that regard. I loved the food at LTT as well. Plus their Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake is amazing.

Crystal Palace! LTT is one of our few dislikes. The kids hated their food, my salad was completely wilted and overdressed, and DH's burger was forgettable.

I loved LTT. Wasn't impressed with CP. LTT is a little quieter and relaxed compared to CP with the characters. Food at CP was just ok but LOVED the pot roast at LTT.

The potroast is gone :( I loved their lunches, but now that every meal is the turkey dinner (or one pasta dish), I just dont care for it. This is the new lunch menu

Appetizers/Starters
Crab and Lobster Dip for Two $15

New England Clam Chowder $9

Sweet Corn Fritters - with house-made pepper jelly $7

Entrees
All You Care to Enjoy - Declaration Salad - Tossed mixed greens with house-made dressing
Patriot's Platter: Roasted Turkey Breast, Slice Prime Rib, Carved Pork
Mashed Potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Herb Stuffing and Home-made Macaroni and Cheese
Johnny Appleseed's Bread Pudding
Non Alcoholic, non specialty beverages $35 Adults / $19 Ages 9 and Under

Freedom Pasta - grilled chicken or shrimp, pasta, artichokes, mushrooms, and tomatoes tossed in a roasted red pepper cream sauce $23

Colony Salad Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake - vanilla cake with a gooey toffee filling, vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce $8

Boston Cream Pie - tower of vanilla cake, white chocolate pastry cream, chocolate ganache, and chocolate pearl crunch $8

Do you want characters and a varied buffet to serve yourself?

Do you want no characters and have a limited menu with food brought to you?

And lunch or dinner, that would make a difference in menu.

I haven't been to LTT so I can't speak to it directly, because we tend to do our TS for dinner and the Thanksgiving dinner has never appealed. While CP does tend to get a lot of negative input on these boards we have always enjoyed the food, they have a good variety at dinner including vegetables and fish options and the characters interact really well with everyone, including teens and adults, so it is an experience that isn't just geared to small kids (I have also seen the characters limit their interaction where adults were not interested, so they won't attack you if you aren't interested). We visit CP every trip and it is my now 21-year-old DD's favorite place to eat (she is a huge Pooh fan so that helps).

You might want to check the lunch menu. It's changed again and more choices added to ala Carter which includes the pot roast. I'm excited that they changed. So now they have a better ala Cart menu.

Two TOTALLY different types of food in my opinion! LTT is down home, mouth watering yummy! Pot Roast, Turkey, Mashed potatoes, Gravy etc......Crystal Palace is more
"fancy food"...nice table cloths, cloth napkins, fancy drinks. It's just a pick what type of food you want. Enjoy whatever you chose and have fun!

We have been to both LTT is the one restaurant in the park we would never go back to. Everything about our experience there was bad. The food was awful, the service worse, we asked to speak to someone and no one ever showed to talk to, I mean, just really bad. Quite the opposite with CP We have been there several times and had excellent experiences.

PS At LTT it wasn't that one of our meals was sub par, ALL FOUR were awful and I consider myself pretty fair and pretty tolerant. I know how busy they are, I know how awful guests can be, I rarely complain, but this was just bad

I'm the minority I guess? But we loved LTT, my whole family thought it was delicious, one of our favorites.

Our family likes LTT. We have only been for dinner. Even after the menu changes we will like it.

The first time I went to LTT (early 90's) it was still a character meal.
