Liberty Tree Tavern - worth it?

I think dinner is one of the worst values there since they took away the characters, but never really reduced the price. You spend full dinner buffet price $50+-ish for sliced buffet style meats, mashed potatoes, Stouffers mac and cheese (they literally advertise its Stouffers!)and a basic desert. Nothing wrong with simple home cooking (I love "thanksgiving" dinner), but when I think of the fine dining steaks and seafood I could be eating at this price, I just can't recommend the place, unless you are one of those who are really picky and struggle to find things to eat in most sit down places and this type of meal scratches that itch.

That said, lunch is fine as you get choice of some entrees at least and pay pretty reasonable prices for them.

I know! And their dressing tasted no different than Stovetop brand, too. For the price they charge it was a real disappointment for us.

You're going to get all kinds of opinions...some thinks it's amazing while others wonder why people even bother.

I ate there once ages ago and wasn't impressed; however, I saw the DisUnplugged people give it a positive review, so I gave it a second chance. We are huge fans of Thanksgiving food. I buy 4-8 turkeys every year when prices drop in November so we can have dinner like this throughout the year. So, when I heard LTT was the high demand spot for people spending Thanksgiving at WDW (combined with the more recent glowing reviews), I went in with really high hopes. I know everyone does some things a little bit differently when it comes to traditional, but I've had a few traditional restaurant Thanksgiving meals at non-Disney spots that were excellent, so I figured it would be on par with that to garner such high praise. After this visit, I would rather eat non-traditional Thanksgiving food on Thanksgiving than ever go back to LTT. Most of it was just bad...including the turkey! The gravy, macaroni, beans, mashed potatoes, pork and stuffing were also shamefully bad. The pot roast, salad, rolls and dessert were ok...but nothing to rave about or warrant a repeat visit.

Like I said above, I'm sure there were people eating there the same night that would be shocked to know the meal they loved was found to be so vile by our group. In the end, you probably have to go once and decide for yourself if it's your thing.

We had a decent meal there when we were there earlier this year. It wasn't great but it was far better than Diamond Horseshoe. The staff was great and the best part. My wife had an allergy and they bent over backwards to help her. The food was OK but nothing great. It was on par with Plaza and better than Tony's. I think it's hit or miss depending on how the turkey comes out. Ours was decent.

Ate here in Dec 2018. Food was solid but not over the top. One of the highlights was the fact they catered to my wife's dairy allergy flawlessly.
