Liberty Tree Tavern vs. Crystal Palace?

My son, now age 9, always loved Liberty Tree, however, in April , it wasn't so good. I would pick Crystal Palace.

LTT food is good they have turkey, ham, and beef along with mac & cheese and mashed potato's and green beans, and dessert. LTT dinner is served family style and character interaction is wonderful, but we prefer CP. Although CP is a buffet the food selection is much better and very tasty and the character interaction there is very good as well. My DD's love the Pooh character parade CP has.

Blessed Be,
Tina

Our children LOVE CP. They were not crazy about the LTT food at all. They didn't like the Stouffers Mac & Cheese or even the veggies because of the pepper they added.

My kids love buffets as there's so much more to choose from.

The character interaction was good at LTT but no one in our family liked the food. We all love CP for lunch or dinner, I have to book it on every trip.

I actually like both very much and don't see a radical difference in food quality, but if pushed to make a choice I would prefer LTT. CP is a true buffet where the food sits out in the open. It's not unusual to see someone pick something up and then put it back, sample something from the buffet with their hands, or simply have a coughing/sneezing attack while passing through the line. At LTT the food is brought to your table and you are blissfully unaware of anything that happened to it prior to its arrival.

Definitely Crystal Palace! I love them both, but the gorgeous garden/open air/glass/Victorian atmosphere of CP wins me over every time. Plus, that chicken/mushroom pasta and mashed potatos they have at CP... MMM! :cloud9:

We loved both places, but if I had to make a choice it would be LTT. We will probably do this one twice on our next trip because we loved it so much.:)

We love them both, but for picky eaters I would choose the buffet @Crystal Palace. There's got to be something there that they would enjoy. Have a wonderful trip!

We didn't try LTT but we made ADR's for CP on the dining plan and we liked it so much I called while I was there and was lucky to get another reservation that week.

We did breakfast. I know not the best use of our credit but my son eats far more on the breakfast bar and is very picky.

They have these pooh bear french toast things that are to die for. The hubby and I will be craving them I am sure.

The atmosphere is very nice too. We will definitely do it again when we go back.

This is a must dine place for me at least once every trip!! The food is great!!!

The food is fine at both and it's probably better at one on one day, better at the other on another day... Can your kids get up to the buffet alone or are they little and need attention every minute? Are they old enough to sit still or would a buffet be better for them? Also, would you enjoy the Pooh characters or Mickey and the gang more?

We love both of these places but those questions might help you decide :)

Liverty Tree Tavern!! Loved the food, the characters, the ambience... everything!!!
But then, I've never been to CP, and still will not go next trip, LTT is my favorite since '97 and will not change it. My kids also loved it.

I would have to vote for LTT...We have three boys 10,2 & 1. CP seems to be too loud and overwhelming for them. The food at LTT seems to be pleasing to all of them and the characters are wonderful. I think it doesn't feel as hurried here either. Last year we took a late dinner ressie during MNSSHP.....Our middle one was in tears and we couldn't get him to calm down, I thought for sure I was going to be mentioned in one of those threads about meltdown kids....anyways, Pluto, who happens to be his fav, came right over and settled him down, even got him to get into the highchair and buckle in. By the end of the evening, characters had hit us two and three times and each one made certain to pay special attention to my puffy red eyed very tired little boy. So, the long and short of it is.......You simply can't miss LTT!!!!

We much preferred CP, it's buffet v. served platter at LTT, but the choice at CP was excellent and the characters great.

Definitely Crystal Palace! I love them both, but the gorgeous garden/open air/glass/Victorian atmosphere of CP wins me over every time. Plus, that chicken/mushroom pasta and mashed potatos they have at CP... MMM! :cloud9:

Ooh yes completely agree with you, that pasta is amazing!

My kids liked LLT better than CP. It was nice to have the food served "family style" and the characters were great. They came around to the table twice and the service was great also.

Dinner seemed to take a very long time at CP, its alot larger than LLT, so we waited for the characters to come to the table. Food was just ok. Both DD's said they did not want to eat at CP on our next trip. Like I said, it just took a really long time.

We prefer the Crystal Palace over Liberty Tree. The characters were great at both and rotated frequently, but the food was much better at CP. At Liberty Tree, oddly enough the sides were great, but the main course meats were dry and had no flavor. I'm not spending almost $30 a plate for mashed potatoes!

As for the concerns about buffets and people touching food, sneezing, etc, we know for a fact that Crystal Palace keeps a watch on that. In December when we went, our 5 year old neice Naomi got excited when getting her food. Before we could stop her, she picked up a chicken finger with her hands and put it on her plate. As soon as she walked away, a CM came and took away the tray (even though it was full) and replaced it with a new one! That made us feel good about the cleanliness of that buffet.

I would like to know about breakfast at CP.. how is it ?
what are the choices and how are the prices ?

TIA>
