Liberty Tree Tavern-No More Character Dining

Someone said to me that they were ending character dining there due to cost saving measures, however it isn't cheap to eat there at all and it is always packed. I would think disney would have taken the approach of "if it aint broke, don't fix it."

I will miss the character dinner at LTT because I hate the headache that is Chef Mickey's!! I have a child, but she would never dream of running to another person's table while they were eating...I'd have given her a Miss Cammie eyebrow arch for thinking it!!

This brought to your table meal was much more civil than many of the character meals, and the period costumes tied in with the menu nicely!:dance3:

It was the only un-manic character meal I had found....More in keeping with a vacation tone, and not feeling trapped in a small space after a long day of sun and lines only to wait in buffet lines was a pleasure!:flower3:

This is the one character meal that we have not gotten to try... I was loooking forward to trying it on our next trip. Oh well.

We loved this one as well- especially during the MNSSHP when the characters would dress up for Halloween. :(
How can the MK not have a character meal with Mickey?

We don't really like the food at dinner at LTT, so we won't be going back now that it is not a character meal.

We also have had two terrible lunches there. The food was fantastic both times, but it took us over 2 hours both times and we could not even get refill on drinks due to our inattentive waitresses. One time the manager finally served us our food more than an hour and a half after we ordered and they really were not even apologetic about the absurd wait.

I really do not understand why anyone loves this restaurant or would go without the character interaction. The characters here are always great and I will miss them.

On the otherhand if CRT went back to the old dinner w/o characters, I would be thrilled. I miss the wonderful meals we used to have there.

Not a problem, thanks for the honest opinions. I will leave it and let them know the foods is good, not great, but about as good as we can get at MK.

That's a fair representation. I'm sure you guys are going to have a great time. Don't worry about, & enjoy the experience.

For those of you who say you wouldn't eat at LTT without the characters....have you ever had lunch there? Their non-character meal menu is wonderful and though we enjoyed the character meal there, I've always sort of wished they had the regular menu for dinner.

Rumor has it that the menu won't change. If that's the case, I don't see us ever eating there again. Though, we're not big fans to begin with. We only go on an occasional party (MNSSHP or MVMCP) night. I would love it, if they offered a different menu, with high quality food.

I'm pretty sure Mickey hasn't been at LTT, when we've been there. Minnie has been. As far as I know, Mickey isn't at any of the MK restaurants now. I could be wrong though.

I think that you're right. My understanding is that Mickey can only be in one place in a park at a time. So if he's at the castle for a stage show, he can't be at LTT greeting diners. Minnie however has super powers and has no problem appearing both places at the same time. ;)

I forgot about that!
I just feel like Mickey and Minnie should be hosting a meal somewhere in the MK. I know he is in the judge's tent most of the day~ but he has to eat too, right? Even if they brought back a chracater breakfast at Tony's with Mickey, Minnie, etc that would be great! :)

I was really looking forward to having lunch here on our trip in December next year! We will be paying out of pocket (no dining plan!), so reading this thread has made me leery. Is it what those of you who have eaten there would consider a waste? Are there certain dishes that are better than others??
