Am heading to Disney World and would like to dine at Liberty Tree Tavern, as it's been some time since I've dined there last. I'll be going solo. Can't decide between lunch or dinner. Which would be better for a solo traveller?

I just dined there solo a couple of weeks ago! It was my first time at LTT and as I wasn't interested in character dining, I went for late lunch - ADR was 2.30pm.

Lunch is regular a la carte menu, no characters.
Dinner is served family style at the table so you help yourself, also has characters.

I was very impressed with lunch. I had a house salad with strawberry vinaigrette, then a YUMMY and huge pot roast. It was really good. My server was excellent, very friendly and kind but not intrusive.

I'd definitely eat there again solo for lunch.

We love eating lunch at LTT. We do it at least once each trip, sometimes twice.

I love the pot roast. My husband loves the Pilgrims Feast. Our son gets the fried cheese. We did the character dinner in the past with our son when he was little (plus our nieces), but we prefer lunch.

We had lunch there a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. DSs had burgers and DH and I had the tri-corner sandwich which was very good. We all shared the fried cheese appetizer and it was delicious! It comes with 2 different kinds of friend cheese (mozzarella and cheddar) and the marina dipping sauce. For the price it cost, I was surprised at the amount of pieces of fried cheese it came with. It definitely was plenty for the 4 of us to share. :)

I would say that if you are not very interested in a character meal to try it for lunch. But if you like to see the characters and the fixed dinner menu appeals to you, try dinner. It was nice inside; very colonial and quaint. Our server was very good too :)

I'd go with lunch. I ate dinner solo at LTT three years ago, and found that the family-style service doesn't work quite as well for a single diner.

Everything is laid out on platters, and because there's only one portion of each, everything quickly gets cold. My mashed potatoes quickly turned into playdoh! The dinner was still enjoyable, but it was not as good as it should have been. With a larger party, there's more food on each platter so it doesn't get cold as quickly.

If you do eat dinner there, ask that all your food be put on a single plate if possible.

Lunch and get the Pot Roast! There is a recipe for it on Allearsnet. It will melt in your mouth!
