I was not happy to find out that they have Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake instead of the Johnny Appleseed Cake, do you think they would serve left over fruit cobbler instead? That was the main reason I chose Liberty Tree, maybe they will change back before Sept, wishful thinking....

Toffee cake is served at lunch and the Johnny Aapleseed is served at dinner. At least in my experience....

The menu recently switched to the toffee cake at dinner. The actual Johnny Appleseed cake was replaced with a Johnny Appleseed tart/bar a couple of years ago.

I don't think you'll find that they will replace the dessert with something else - but I guess you can always ask. The Johnny Appleseed cake was changed to a tart/bar style a couple of years ago which in my opinion was not nearly as good as the cake. So if they aren't serving the actual Appleseed cake, then I'm happy to see a change from the tart/bar form.

They changed from the Johnny Appleseed cake, to the tart version of the same cake, to a bread pudding (had it in February 2017), and recently to the ooey gooey toffee cake. I doubt they will substitute, but you can always ask.

Well, is the toffee cake any good, I don't really like toffee...... sigh... Thought about changing restaurants...... maybe just find a good dessert after dinner.... thanks... :)

I wasn't aware there was bread pudding after the tart version - learn something new every day!

The toffee cake is really an ice cream sundae with chocolate and nuts on top of a round circle of toffee, chocolate and cookie-like goodness. It is delicious.

You can ask for an alternative, but I wouldn't count on it. On the other hand the OGTC is served with a scoop of ice cream so you could ask for just the ice cream. We really like the OGTC and order it for dessert at lunch every time we've been to LTT. The toffee cake always seemed more like an oversized chocolate chip cookie to us. Found this photo of it:

They do have a gluten-free brownie with ice cream - but I would home/expect that is limited to people who are gluten-free (or have registered that status when making the reservation/checking in and have eaten gluten-free for the remainder of the meal).

Every time I have had it .............

Big thick chocolate chip cookie - hot.
Topped with ice cream, whipped cream and drizzle of chocolate & toffee.
Then sprinkled with toffee (Heath) chips.

You could ask them to hold off the toffee drizzle and chips .... then it's basically just chocolate chip. I've never been able to taste the toffee in the cake.

OMG that looks so good!! I wish they had a GF version of it!!

Yep....even with the toffee chips on top you don't taste much toffee at all. It's like a big chocolate chip cookie cake with fudge and ice cream. It's really good!

I've had the ooey gooey toffee cake twice and loved it! But I like toffee...

True. I LOVE Heath bars and was so excited the first time I ordered this. I really felt the toffee/Heath flavor was quite lost and I didn't understand why they focused on that flavor in the name. It truly is a big hot chocolate chip cookie ice cream sundae.

This may be the weirdest question I have ever asked on here, but my husband and son will have braces when we go. Is this something they can eat with braces?
