Liberty Tree Tavern and Spectro

I'm looking to have dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern (my mom LOVES chicken and dumplings) in time to then come out for Spectro (7p) and Wishes (8). What time should I make the ADRs to be done in time to get a good spot? Also, I don't know if it factors into it but my Dad will be in a wheelchair.

Thanks!

My Mom tried the chicken and dumplings last Sept and hated it. She called it soup, it was not the traditional chicken and dumplings she was used to (she was expecting a chicken type stew (more gravy ish and not broth) with cake textured dumplings the size of maybe between a golf ball and tennis ball) . Maybe it's different in the US??, we weren't sure. On the flip side, the rest of us LOVED our meals!!

Unfortunately, the chicken & dumplings aren't offered for dinner. Their dinner is only a "family-style" spread of turkey, pork, steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, bread, stuffing, & dessert. As PP stated, you can only get the dumplings for lunch.

I have an ADR at LTT at 6:15 on a 7 p.m. Spectro night, I wasn't thinking that we'd see the parade that night but I've changed my mind and now I'm going to try to change to 5:30 instead. Hopefully that'll give us enough time to finish and find a spot to watch Spectro.

Sorry, as PPs have stated, chicken and dumplings aren't available during dinner. But the dinner at LTT is very good, we enjoyed it back in 2008 when it was still a character meal. I will say that it's extremely heavy and filling food though, not great on a hot night, we'll be having a late breakfast and skipping lunch on our LTT dinner day.

Thanks for the quick replies!

So the dumplings aren't great(and served at lunch :sad2:), but the dinner food is good?....If we eat there should I make a 5:30?

If not LTT then other suggestions for dinner to get us back there in time? Speaking of time, any experience on how early I need to be there for a 7p Jan show?

If I recall correctly, the parade ends in Frontierland but goes right past LTT, since it begins on Main St. at 7, I'm thinking that 5:30 should be an ok time. I hope. ;) I've never actually watched Spectro from that area before.

One of the things I really liked at LTT was the salad with strawberry vinagrette dressing, it was yummy. The stuffing and mac and cheese are Stouffers (pretty sure) and DGD and DH just loved it. It's sort of like Thanksgiving with turkey, sliced steak and pork, green beans, rolls, and an apple cobbler (Did it have ice cream on top? Ha! Can't remember) that was good.

Taking the liberty of adding one of Robo's famous maps of the MK parade route:

We were at LTT for dinner on a Spectro night. We told the server that we wanted to watch the parade. At the appropriate time, we just got up, watched it from the porch, went back in and finished our dinner. No issue.

Great advice! Do you remember your reservation time and the time of Spectro that night?

Thanks summerlady!

This helped seal the deal. You say Thanksgiving, I say YUM!!

You're welcome. :) I did end up canceling my 6:15 ADR and rebooking for 5:30, I'd rather just be finished with dinner by the time Spectro gets there.

My favorite place to watch Spectro is right across from LTT. There is a half wall type thing and some benches and we enjoy that spot very much. What we have often done is make an early ADR for dinner, then walk out, grab a bench and if we have time, dh and I might take turns taking the kids to Hall of Presidents or something nearby. You can also see Wishes from that area, but will miss the castle affects and Tinkerbelle's flight. But we are okay with that and the trade off is no hub or Main Street crowds to deal with! After Wishes, we can just head over to Splash or cut through quickly to Adventureland and POTC without fighting the huge crowds and human traffic jam of the prime Wishes viewing areas in Tomorrowland, the hub and Main Street.

We have enjoyed dinner at LTT many times, its sort of basic comfort food which can be nice after eating various cuisines around Epcot and at the resorts.
