My gf and I will be going in January and I am torn between Liberty Tree Tavern (Character Dinner) or Crystal Palace(Character Dinner)? Any help is appreciated! Thanks

My wife and I were in disney back in Sept./Oct. and we did the Liberty Tree Tavern before MNSSHP while we were there. It was a very good meal. We were there two weeks on the dining plan and it was one of the best in both our opinions. We did not eat at the Crystal Palace though so we can not compare for you. I don't think you would be disappointed with LTT though.

You're probably going to get a lot of votes for each! They are both a lot of fun.

We don't like the food at LTT at all--too bland and tan for me. I like the variety at CP much better. Others will feel the opposite. Why don't you take a look at the menus at Deb's site http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm. Looking at the food offerings might help you decide which suits your taste better.

Enjoy!

I like the food at CP much better. I was really disappointed with dinner at LTT, it tasted like cafeteria food to me.

On our trip just after Thanksgiving we did both LTT and CP. We liked CP much better. We will definately be eating there again. The buffet was awesome! At LTT the food was good, but not a big selection with the family style. Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef, Mac&Cheese, Stuffing, Green beans and mashed potatoes.

At CP the food selection was huge, the Carved Roast Beef and Turkey there (In my and DW's opinion) was better, there was a spiced pulled pork that was mouth watering, the pasta with chicken was yummy, etc, etc,,, Plus the dessert buffet!

Only other big difference, is CP has Winnie the Pooh and friends. LTT has Goofy, Minnie, Pluto and Chip & Dale.

We did both of these character meals during our last trip (Nov. 2004). Here is my 2 cents-- For character interaction-- LTT is the HANDS DOWN WINNER! We were not impressed with CP in this regard. We were there for lunch and saw Pooh and Eeyore. We were there for what seemed like forever (it had to have been at least 1 hour 15 minutes) and Piglet missed us, the characters always seemed to be leaving on a break before they got to us! LTT, on the other hand, we saw each of the five characters-- Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale and Goofy twice a piece-- plus we saw two of them three times! Our kids were thrilled!

We liked the food at both places. We had eaten at Chef Mickey's the night before CP and actually preferred Chef Mickey's buffet (but a lot of people on these boards disagree!) CP is a buffet-- while LTT is family style. Check out the menu before you decide. We personally thought the food at LTT was really really good-- and we love buffets too, but it was nice for once to be able to sit and not have to run back and forth (with little ones you never get to eat with your spouse at buffets.)

We are doing LTT on our next trip, but skipping CP. I have read a lot of positive reviews on both restaurants here.... it probably depends on if you prefer buffets v. family style.. but if you are looking for a great character interaction experience-- LTT can't be beat. (oh yeah, I forgot to add-- the crowd when we were there was an older crowd too-- so it was much quieter and perhaps that is why our kids got so much attention!)

Good luck.. I don't think you can really go wrong with either one!

We liked them both. I think it depends on the type of meal you are looking for. CP seemed to be a bit more rushed, while LTT seemed a bit slower.

Our last trip, we are at LTT and were not impressed at all and really wouldn't go back. We will be trying CP next week and looking foward to it!

I love both restaurants! We always do LTT for lunch and CP for dinner. I vote for CP for dinner! Enjoy and eat lots of food for me! ;)

They both serve an excellent dinner (as far as Disney food is concerned). CP is a good buffet, and LTT is brought tableside.

I would have to agree with Mandabella and say flip a coin. We ate at both last summer and enjoyed them each for differing reasons. I would be very hard pressed to choose just one of the two. Good luck and enjoy!!

LTT is first choice; CP is 2nd choice. LTT is quieter and slower - a break from the park. CP is bright and noisy and busy - lots of fun, but very busy. LTT has less selection, but the food is good. CP has a bigger selection and the food is pretty good. You really can't miss with either one. Biggest choice is whether you want a quieter atmosphere.

We only ate at LTT but I wouldnt do it again. The food was soso and the service less so and imop it wasnt worth the money had we not been on the dining plan. Maybe it was an off night but our server was bad and the food wasnt anything special. We make ham or turkey alot at home for weekend dinners and it just wasnt that impressive.

We loved LTT and we are defianlty going back there on our next trip. DH actaully said that LTT and Le Cellier are must do's next time.
