Anyone else have this issue - no audio when I hold the phone to my ear. The speaker phone works, the text keypad works, everything works except that I can hear nothing when using it as a handset.

Of course, it is just out of warranty, and the Verizon agent said something like, "oh, that's too bad. Well, you can upgrade for a fee..." but really, I would like to stick with what I have for the next six months or so.

Any suggestions on how to fix it? Otherwise I will have to switch to my husband's old phone (with no text keyboard.)

Do you have insurance on it? You can always add insurance to the phone for I think $6.

It is an additional $50 for a replacement under insurance.

this is a total longshot but did you have it hooked up to your blue tooth then forget to disconnect and try to use just the phone (this has happened to me quite a few times)

Something else to try is to remove the battery for about 5-10 seconds then put it back in. I doubt that will fix it, but it's an easy try. Sometimes electronics just need a "kick in the pants" and removing power will do that.

Funny you posted! I just figured out on my I4 that somehow the Bluetooth was turned on. I had no sound all day yesterday!

So I agree check your settings and make sure the Bluetooth is off even if you don't use it.
I don't own a BT so don't know how it happened.

Thanks for all suggestions, which I tried. Sadly, it is still not giving me any sound. Any other ideas?

Please don't laugh - Right now I have both DH's phone and my phone in my purse - mine is easier to text with and his is easier for talking.

could it be something as simple as needing to turn up volume on it? I know I personally have turned mine to mute a few times.

That's kind of what I thought too - and the Bluetooth suggestion. It just stopped working. I keep playing with it, hoping for the best. I have all my contacts backed up - I may just try to reset the whole thing and see what happens. After that, I'll have to accept it as broken.

The worst is that it broke on Dec. 26th, and the warranty ran out on Dec. 28th, but I didn't know that then. We were on the highway on our way to a cruise, so I blamed it on the cell towers, and the metal buildings and ship. By the time we got back, and I realized it was really broken, not just messed up...I took it to the store....well, it was way out of warranty by then, and I can't even blame them for that. (except - what kind of cheesey product breaks 48 hours before the warranty expires?) It's just sad.

You can't add insurance after you buy it, or after you take insurance off of a phone. Otherwise, why would anyone buy it before their phone broke, or they lost it? My dd's Envy did the same thing. We just used an older phone until the contract was up for renewal.
