DH is taking a short trip to Lexington, KY this weekend and staying Downtown at the Radisson. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good place to eat that's near the hotel? He's a casual type of guy - and if it has a Golden Tee game, he would be really happy! TIA :sunny:

If he needs a place within walking distance, there is Joe Bologna's Pizza on Maxwell St. It is in an old church and has awesome pizza. Or, he could check out Alfalfa's downtown. It has a lot of vegetarian stuff, but other goodies too if you don't mind a hippie atmosphere. :rotfl2: If he has a car and wants casual food with a local flair, tell him to find one of the Ramses restaurants. They have great country type food and from 3-7 pm(I believe)have a two for one happy hour on drinks. The reuben sandwich is the best I've ever had and they normally have about 10 varieties of homemade pie. Also in the downtown area is Natasha's Cafe which has an eclectic food and entertainment assortment AND Turkish coffee which I love. Any questions?

I will second the Ramseys. There is one on high street (but I can't remember the cross st). It's a little further trek than Joe Bolognas but if you have a car it's super easy to get to.

In Downtown you can also go to either Annabelle's or Atomic Cafe (they are both close to each other)

A couple of other suggestions if you have a car-
Puccini's smiling teeth (little italian place) or Oasis (Mediterranean)- Both on Tates Creek Rd just past Euclid (Chevy Chase Plaza)
Billy's BBQ- Tates Creek and Sunset (just past Chevy Chase Plaza)

Good recommendations! I didn't realize we had so many people here from Lexington!

There's a nice little sports bar within walking distance, but I can't remember the name of it - maybe someone's already mentioned it.

Also, across Triangle Park is Desha's. It's very casual and they have decent food.

Oh, and Dudley's is a really nice place (on Mill Street, I believe). It's a bit dressier.

I don't live in Lexington but did go to UK and still spend quite a bit of time there. DeSha's is good but I haven't been there in years. I used to also like the Melodeon downtown which had great sandwiches, but I think they closed.

No advice on Lexington, but I'm replying to say that like your DH, I LOVE Golden Tee. That game is shockingly addictive!!! :)
