Lewisville/Coppell Texas

Just got sent last minute to Coppell Tx for two weeks. Will be staying in Lewisville. Any good mom & pop restaurants in the area? Best Tex/Mex food?

I'll be there over next weekend. Anything interesting going on?

I assume it's going to be too HOT for many outdoor activities?

Babe's Chicken is always a top restaurant around here - there is one in Carrollton that is not too far from Lewisville.

As for Tex-Mex, you can always get good meals at places like Uncle Julios and Pappasitos. They are chains, but well done chains (The Pappas chains are Texas only, I believe). I am far east of Dallas and don't know the Lewisville/Coppell area very well to know exact recommendations for mexican food. Got a couple of great ones closer to me though!

Try a La Madeleine for breakfast or lunch sometime as well. For BBQ, there is Sonny Bryans, Spring Creek or you may run across a mom-and-pop near you as well (although I am not aware of one)

Enjoy! I am quite partial to the food around here.

Oh - and yes, it is VERY hot here and does not look like it is letting up. 100+ temps. If you do go outdoors, the morning is best and you will definitely want to stay hydrated.

Try Tierney's Restaurant. It is in the Old Village area of Lewisville. Family owned. They have excellent food and good atmosphere. Not expensive at all. Yes it is HOT there but that's Texas in the Summer.

Thanks for all the tips. So far our work schedule has only allowed one quick meal, but I look forward to trying some of these over the weekend. To keep from starving until then, we stopped at a grocery store and got sandwich fixins.

You MUST go to La Hacienda Ranch! They have THE BEST chicken fajitas and queso. There's one in Carrollton (right next to Lewisville) on I-35.

There are certainly a lot of burger joints. We must drive past six or eight on the short drive from the hotel to the office.

Thanks for all the tips. Too bad we're only going to have a couple of free days over the weekend to try some of them.
