Last week my high school teacher mailed me a letter. Actually it was suppose to go out in August, but she couldn't locate me. I felt mildly suprised that in the 20+ years she had been doing it, she has been unable to find only six students (not including those who were deceased). She obviously had dedication as she spent nearly 6 months locating me haha. And I felt a bit of pride knowing I dropped off the face of the planet after high school.

Anyways, it was a letter I wrote myself in high school asking me about the future, social life, major moments in my life, etc. When I got it, I strongly considered just shredding it without reading it. After debating for a bit what to do I read it. 90% of it was harmless or high school drama and the such, but one statement I wrote made me smile.

18. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
My response: Living on a tropical island.

Some high school dreams do come true!

Where are you from....origionally???

I've heard of that. I'm trying to remember if either of my DSs did that with any of their teachers. I'll have to ask them.

woo-hoo...Oakland. I grew up near Seminary & Foothill (def NOT somewhere I'd live today!)

Yeah, I was surprised I even got the letter. My parents moved shortly after I graduated and I have a common last name. I lost touch with everyone from my high school so she did some detective work and eventually found someone I was friends with on facebook who then I gave my address to and she sent me the letter.

Oakland, CA.

Wow, so you moved to paradise!!!!

So, how does it compare to living in California???

And what a nice thing to have a teacher contact you after all these years:thumbsup2

Thats neat!

In 5th grade, the class made a time capsule and it went home with one of the students. We were all supposed to get back together in 10th grade and open it....I never got the call! WTH?:confused3 I had a rubber bouncy ball in there that I wanted back!:rotfl:
