FYI- there were 5 OOV rooms available but they were gone by the time we got to the front of the upgrade line. I asked what the upgrade price was for the OOV and it would have been just over $2900. I am kicking myself for not getting there sooner to try and get one of those rooms but I am guessing those people were camped out because she said they were gone as soon as the line opened up. That was an $8,000+ savings and the cruise was 14 nights. I am sure it was worth ever penny.

How are port upgrades charged (difference in fare) At the time of upgrade or to the room?

Congrats on a great upgrade! Can you share about your experience getting to the port (bus/uber/self-drive)? I assume you had to be close to the front of the line.

Out of curiosity, where do you line up to try to get an upgrade? When I went on my first European cruise, I wanted to upgrade but was never able to find the location.

My first cruise was out of Miami and there was a dedicated desk, which I think is the case for all departure ports, they only don't advertise it. I asked the CM who did my check in and directed me to right desk.

There is a supervisor desk, that is the place to check for upgrades. They do handle other inquires but typically it is for requesting upgrades. Or you can ask at guest services once onboard, but that is not as common of a place to get an upgrade.

At port canaveral it is the last slot on the left. At other ports we have been to it is the last desk before the boarding/security doors.
