Let's turn around. Magic Kingdom is open till 1AM! 3/23 Some Final Thoughts

Your lunch at Le Cellier sounds absolutely delicious! And I cannot get over how much food is on your son's plate!

I absolutely love the picture of your son asleep in the stroller. That is too precious! :goodvibes

I can't believe it was already y'alls last day! :sad1: I was so hoping y'all were going to turn around & go to MK! But, I understand....a long drive home brings you to your senses.....even if you don't want it to.

Congrats on the new ticker! Sounds like it'll be a fun vacation!

Lunch at Le Cellier sounded really good. I haven't made it there yet.

I see his band-aid!

We loaded back up into the truck in the EPCOT parking lot and headed out. We had just driven the wrong way under that sign that welcomes everyone to Disney World when you arrive and taunts you when you leave. I was watching it get smaller in the mirror when DW said she wished we didn’t have to leave.

Let’s turn around then. The Magic Kingdom is open till 1 am tonight!

Hey, that'd make a great Trip Report title!

I’m also excited to say that I finally have a new ticker in my sig.

:woohoo:

We’ll be taking a larger family trip with my parents, sisters and bil this December to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. That means we’ll have an almost 3 year old and a 7-8 month old with us. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Pray for us.

No worries. You'll be at DisneyWorld!

We made our way back to our destination and took some pictures of the scenery on our way to check in for our ADR.
Prettyyyyyyyy. I love the Canada pavilion. It's like Flower and Garden Festival all year round.

As I looked around though, it became apparent that the tables with high chairs all seemed to be concentrated in the same area of the restaurant. I don’t know if this was intentionally planned or just a coincidence, but it was a good idea regardless.
Total coincidence. Just like when it happens at Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Applebees...

We loved the cheese soup and the pretzel bread. It most definitely lived up to the high standards that Captain_Oblivious and many others around here have set.
::yes:: :thumbsup2 ::yes::

In fact, I’m pretty sure there was more food on DS’s plate than mine.
Wow that's a lot of noodles!

We headed on around to Germany, where DS and I stopped to check out the miniature village (or more importantly the trains) while DW grabbed a pretzel for us to share.
I lov..er, my kids love the trains too!

We continued around the World Showcase for one last ride on It’s a Small Mexico. DS was thrilled that we were thoughtful enough to include his favorite ride.
Parenting WIN.

We were in that surreal state of mind. We knew that we had done just about everything we wanted to do, but had to get on the road eventually. We were essentially just trying to delay the inevitable at that point. :sad2:
It's like when teenagers first start dating and you're on the phone late into the night and neither wants to be the first to hang up. No one wants to be the one to finally say "Ok, we've got to get going."

We loaded back up into the truck in the EPCOT parking lot and headed out. We had just driven the wrong way under that sign that welcomes everyone to Disney World when you arrive and taunts you when you leave.
You drove backwards, like Mater? Or you were driving forwards in the wrong lane? Either way, that's just not safe. :sad2:

Let’s turn around then. The Magic Kingdom is open till 1 am tonight!

I looked at her hoping she’d say yes. I was ready to pull a U turn right across the median.
DO IT! I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to catch air coming out of the median ditch and leave two black squeal marks on the inbound lanes heading back to World.

I think she actually considered it, but we both knew we had to start heading north to get rested up and make it home at a reasonable time tomorrow.
I hate it when cooler heads prevail. :sad2:

I’m also excited to say that I finally have a new ticker in my sig. We’ll be taking a larger family trip with my parents, sisters and bil this December to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. That means we’ll have an almost 3 year old and a 7-8 month old with us. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Pray for us.
Congrats to them on the anniversary and to you for another trip!
Praying might not be enough here. You may want to look into some kind of ritual sacrifice.

I missed that you booked CSR! Woohoo!!!!!! Cabanas 9 is nice, as is Cabanas 8A.

I was a little bit nervous about taking DS to eat in a nice establishment,

They let you in the door…
How picky can they be?
:confused3

but I figured he probably couldn’t do too much damage in a cellar.

Raise ‘em right and boys can do plenty of damage nearly anywhere.

As I looked around though, it became apparent that the tables with high chairs all seemed to be concentrated in the same area of the restaurant. I don’t know if this was intentionally planned or just a coincidence, but it was a good idea regardless.

Disney… intentionally plan something…
Naaaaaaaa.

It made me feel better when DS wanted to play the drums on the table with his fork. That other kid at the next table was way louder. Drum away! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Never suppress natural musical ability

It most definitely lived up to the high standards that Captain_Oblivious and many others around here have set.

It’s certainly well reviewed among the Dads

We parked the stroller and sat on a bench along the lagoon while we snacked and watched the drummers perform for a while. DS really seemed to enjoy the show.

I do believe you may have a drummer on your hands.
Either that or he just likes the idea of hitting things.

We continued around the World Showcase for one last ride on It’s a Small Mexico. DS was thrilled that we were thoughtful enough to include his favorite ride.

DUCK!!

DS had been napping for a while so we thought we’d go get in the Visa character line. He could sleep a little while longer, then we’d just wake him up when we get closer to the front of the line. Great idea! As you can see, he was thrilled to see Mickey.:rolleyes1 :headache:

Ehhh…. You gave it a shot.
Win some, loose some.

We made our way over to the Electric Umbrella and shared an order of chicken strips and fries to use the last of our Quick Service meal credits. We lingered at our table for a bit longer than normal after we finished eating. Nobody was in a big hurry to get up and leave. We finally made our way outside, and after a few last pictures, we said goodbye to Disney World. :sad1::sad2:

Linger is the best word for how we deal with those last moments at Disney as well.

You rearrange the luggage…
Clean up all the loose stuff…
Adjust the seats…
Reset the mirrors…
Just about anything you can think of to keep from actually driving away.
When you do put it in gear, you drive rather slowly through the parking lot.
That there leaving thing…
It’s tough.

We had just driven the wrong way under that sign that welcomes everyone to Disney World when you arrive and taunts you when you leave.

And taunt you it does

I was watching it get smaller in the mirror when DW said she wished we didn’t have to leave.

Let’s turn around then. The Magic Kingdom is open till 1 am tonight!

Excellent us of the story title to sum it all up.
Nice!

Thank you all for reading along.

Wouldn’t have missed it :goodvibes

I’m also excited to say that I finally have a new ticker in my sig. We’ll be taking a larger family trip with my parents, sisters and bil this December to celebrate my parents’ anniversary. That means we’ll have an almost 3 year old and a 7-8 month old with us. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Pray for us.

Ehhhh…
You’re the expert now.
They’ll be looking to you to solve every problem that comes up.
(Just figured that thought would make you feel better :stir:)

Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal at Le Cellier! I haven't been there in a while, but I do love the cheddar cheese soup! I think that it was awesome that they "segregated" the little ones, I think it makes dining so much easier and less stressful when you are surrounded by kindred spirits.

Also its nice when the kid next to you is being louder, and taking away attention for anything your kid might be doing wrong. Unfortunately, in my case, that louder kid is usually Everett

I got a real kick out of "Its a small Mexico", I might have to call it that from now on.:thumbsup2

I really enjoying reading about your adventures, and I'm sorry that they have to come to a close. I hope you plan on doing a TR for your next trip, it sounds like a real shindig! I'll keep you in my prayers! :rotfl:

I hope to get back and reply to everyone's comments soon. It has been a very busy week, and will probably only get worse.

Yesterday and today I am spending some time talking to 4th graders about farm safety at a county wide farm safety day program that is done every year. I get 11 groups each day to talk to for 18 minutes. I still have my headache from yesterday and I'm getting ready to go back right after I post this.:headache:

Some of those kids really help me appreciate the "terrible twos."

Anyway, after I did that yesterday, I headed out to do some work on the farm. This warm weather has got the weeds off to an early start so we've been doing some tillage to help hold the weeds back and to help get us a little bit closer to being ready to plant next month. It's warm enough to plant right now, but as early as it is, I'm too afraid of the possibility of some cooler weather or a late frost. We'll likely wait until mid-April to start like usual.

2012-03-20_16-41-16_516.jpg

DS rode in the tractor with me for about 3 hours yesterday and found a place to take a nap. The first picture is a view from my seat, the second is a view from outside the cab with the door open. He drooled and sweated in his sleep and woke up with a muddy face. Mommy wasnt too amused when she came to get him, but he seemed perfectly happy.

Don't forget to take Advil this morning... It'll help that headache that you'll get later on today... :rotfl2:

Your DS is adorable sleeping in the cab... It's amazing how they can fall asleep anywhere...

The farmers around here (eastern Iowa) have been applying anhydrous all week... And knowing them, they'll start planting April 1st, and have their corn frozen 7-10 days later... They never learn...

Loved your TR... Thanks for letting us come along on your vacation... No trip in my future for at least another year... Darn project at work... :headache:

Good luck with your talks today with the 4th graders. I hope they don't make your headache worse!

That picture of your son napping is so adorable! :goodvibes

I always thought the 51st state was Puerto Rico? :confused3

Mmmmmmm Le Cellier. I'm hoping to talk our friends (and DW) into eating there in November.

I had the filet like you. It was excellent!

So after eating pretzel sticks at Le Cellier you stopped for a pretzel? :lmao:

I can't believe your trip has come to an end.....

Congrats on your new ticker! I loved CSR and I think we stayed in 8B which was a great location! :thumbsup2

We were probably 20 minutes early, but we were actually seated rather promptly. I was a little bit nervous about taking DS to eat in a nice establishment, but I figured he probably couldn’t do too much damage in a cellar.

I'd be more nervous about what I'd do in a nice establishment.

We loved the cheese soup and the pretzel bread. It most definitely lived up to the high standards that Captain_Oblivious and many others around here have set.

Woohoo! :woohoo: Glad you enjoyed it. There's nothing worse than recommending something to a friend and having them avoid talking to you about it afterwards. Not that it ever happens to me. :rolleyes1

In fact, I’m pretty sure there was more food on DS’s plate than mine.

Yes, but your dish was "gourmet".

We were essentially just trying to delay the inevitable at that point. :sad2:

Been there, attempted to delay that. :sad1:

Great idea! As you can see, he was thrilled to see Mickey.:rolleyes1 :headache:

Because Mickey had tried to eat him on the previous day.

I was watching it get smaller in the mirror when DW said she wished we didn’t have to leave.

Let’s turn around then. The Magic Kingdom is open till 1 am tonight!

Now that's the best idea I've heard yet! :thumbsup2

Sorry the trip is over already, and I'm glad you have a new one to look forward to. Thanks for taking us along on this one! Nice job on your first TR!

Andy, say it's not so. I can't believe the TR is over (well, except the recap). I have so enjoyed your TR, and seeing your little guy. I love the photo of him by the train station in Germany...very cute. And so glad you enjoyed your meal at LeCellier. We LOVE lunch there (we weren't happy with dinner in September because I couldn't substitute for the mashed potatos or the dessert I wanted ) and we will go back for lunch in a couple of years.

Are you going to do a Pretrip report?
That was my first time at LeCellier and I'm really glad we did it. Personally, I'm going to tend to want to eat lunch there instead of dinner anyway, just for the cost difference and the fact that dinner is 2 meal credits if you're on the dining plan. I thought the lunch there was excellent and I hope to go back... maybe even in December...:rolleyes1

I've been trying to decide if I will do a PTR. My mom has done most of the planning, but DW and I are going to have to plan for a trip with a toddler and an infant, so there might be something worth writing about in there. If nothing else, it might give everyone something that they can make fun of and be glad they aren't doing what we're doing. :lmao::rotfl2:

I do have a sister with a gluten allergy so she and I will probably plan any ADR's we do. Yeah, I guess I will try a PTR.

Your lunch at Le Cellier sounds absolutely delicious! And I cannot get over how much food is on your son's plate!
The child's portion was way too much food for him, but there wasn't enough on my plate that I was willing to give any up.:rolleyes1 :lmao:

I absolutely love the picture of your son asleep in the stroller. That is too precious! :goodvibes
Thanks. He was getting very good at falling asleep in that thing by the end of the trip. If he would have been willing to do that on day 2, it would have made life so much easier.

I can't believe it was already y'alls last day! :sad1: I was so hoping y'all were going to turn around & go to MK! But, I understand....a long drive home brings you to your senses.....even if you don't want it to.

Congrats on the new ticker! Sounds like it'll be a fun vacation!
It really was a shame to be leaving. We knew we might be going back this year, but now that we know we are, I'm very excited.

Lunch at Le Cellier sounded really good. I haven't made it there yet.
You need to do some fancy wording on your next ADR survey so that everybody picks Le Cellier and Via Napoli then.:thumbsup2

I see his band-aid!
He tried to pick it off, but those Disney band-aids have some top notch adhesive on them.

Hey, that'd make a great Trip Report title!
 Sounds good to me!

No worries. You'll be at DisneyWorld!
Indeed we will. And we'll have help!!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Prettyyyyyyyy. I love the Canada pavilion. It's like Flower and Garden Festival all year round.
It is. It made me realize that we don't always take enough time to really explore all of the pavillions around the World Showcase. I can't even remember the last time I walked back that path.:confused3

Total coincidence. Just like when it happens at Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Applebees...
That's what I thought

Wow that's a lot of noodles!
And he ate at least 7 or 8 of them.:headache:

I lov..er, my kids love the trains too!
You don't have to pretend. Everybody loves trains.

Parenting WIN.
We do what we can.:confused3

It's like when teenagers first start dating and you're on the phone late into the night and neither wants to be the first to hang up. No one wants to be the one to finally say "Ok, we've got to get going."
Good comparison. Now one of these days when that's Madison on one end of that phone call, how long will that continue until you cut the phone line.

Wow, that must have sounded like some old crotchety guy. Everybody knows phone lines won't exist by the time she's dating. :lmao:

You drove backwards, like Mater? Or you were driving forwards in the wrong lane? Either way, that's just not safe. :sad2:
I know how to use my mirrors!:thumbsup2

DO IT! I'm sure you wouldn't be the first to catch air coming out of the median ditch and leave two black squeal marks on the inbound lanes heading back to World.
I would have loved to have done it.

I hate it when cooler heads prevail. :sad2:
Being responsible is no fun.:sad2:

Congrats to them on the anniversary and to you for another trip!
Praying might not be enough here. You may want to look into some kind of ritual sacrifice.
I'm just counting on you getting your act together and getting your Trip Reports up to date so that I can get some last second pointers from your August trip.:rolleyes1

I missed that you booked CSR! Woohoo!!!!!! Cabanas 9 is nice, as is Cabanas 8A.
Thanks! I'll have to let her know to make a note of that. I'd assume if we can give them 2 or 3 options that should help our chances of at least getting one of them.:confused3

They let you in the door…
How picky can they be?
:confused3
They'll let anybody in the door. My concern was being booted out the door.

Raise ‘em right and boys can do plenty of damage nearly anywhere.
::yes::

Disney… intentionally plan something…
Naaaaaaaa.
Never. Everything there just happens by pure chance.

Never suppress natural musical ability
I don't want to supress his ability. Just the noise.:rolleyes1 :lmao:

It’s certainly well reviewed among the Dads
And I fully endorse it with the same fervor of those who have done so before me.:thumbsup2

I do believe you may have a drummer on your hands.
Either that or he just likes the idea of hitting things.
:confused3 We'll see I guess.

Dont forget Parrot and Chicken.

Ehhh…. You gave it a shot.
Win some, loose some.
yeah, we got some good ones throughout the week. We tried anyway.

Linger is the best word for how we deal with those last moments at Disney as well.

You rearrange the luggage…

Adjust the seats…
Reset the mirrors…
Just about anything you can think of to keep from actually driving away.
When you do put it in gear, you drive rather slowly through the parking lot.

Well said.

And taunt you it does
Beautiful sight upon arrival. Absolutely not what you want to see as you leave.

Excellent us of the story title to sum it all up.
Nice!
Thanks!

Wouldn’t have missed it :goodvibes
Again, thanks!

Ehhhh…
You’re the expert now.
They’ll be looking to you to solve every problem that comes up.
(Just figured that thought would make you feel better :stir:)
I don't know about the expert part. Maybe an expert on doing Disney toddler style, but this infant thing scares the bajeebers out of me.

It was a delicious meal, and I was very relieved to see other high chairs. I was a little nervous just to take him in there, because it seems a lot of people avoid Le Cellier with small children, but the fact that we were in an area with several other high chairs was fantastic. I couldn't have been happier to keep picking toys up off the floor for the little girl at the table next to us! :lmao::rotfl2:

I got a real kick out of "Its a small Mexico", I might have to call it that from now on.:thumbsup2
I think it is a very fitting description.:confused3 :lmao:

I really enjoying reading about your adventures, and I'm sorry that they have to come to a close. I hope you plan on doing a TR for your next trip, it sounds like a real shindig! I'll keep you in my prayers! :rotfl:
Thank you for the kind words. I'll probably end up doing a TR... at least encompassing the adventures of DW, myself and the kids. I might be able to persuade someone to, or convince someone not to attempt Disney with a toddler and an infant.:rotfl2:

Don't forget to take Advil this morning... It'll help that headache that you'll get later on today... :rotfl2:
I did take some. It is much needed after speaking with 500 4th graders over 2 days. :scared1:

Your DS is adorable sleeping in the cab... It's amazing how they can fall asleep anywhere...
Yes, but only when they want to.

The farmers around here (eastern Iowa) have been applying anhydrous all week... And knowing them, they'll start planting April 1st, and have their corn frozen 7-10 days later... They never learn...
Yes, a lot of that around here too. We'll do our anhydrous after the corn is up. There are people planting here right now. I think they're crazy, but we'll see.:confused3

Loved your TR... Thanks for letting us come along on your vacation... No trip in my future for at least another year... Darn project at work... :headache:
Thanks for reading along!

Good luck with your talks today with the 4th graders. I hope they don't make your headache worse!
One of the local high schools had their FFA group there to help with the program. During lunch I was talking to their teacher and we could barely hear each other over the "roar." She said "this is why I'm glad I don't teach elementary."

It was a fun experience. Some of the classes really were great to interact with and seemed genuinely interested. Others, not so much. I had one group that was just out of control and the teacher never so much as opened her mouth to even try to control them. I guess it was just a vacation day for her.:confused3 :sad2:

That picture of your son napping is so adorable! :goodvibes
Thanks!

I always thought the 51st state was Puerto Rico? :confused3
Yeah, but it is an island and just called a territory. Let's face it Canada is already closer to being a state than Puerto Rico is.

Mmmmmmm Le Cellier. I'm hoping to talk our friends (and DW) into eating there in November.
Good luck.

I had the filet like you. It was excellent!
::yes::

So after eating pretzel sticks at Le Cellier you stopped for a pretzel? :lmao:
The pretzel bread was so much better though. I guess we were just still thinking about it and wanted more.:rotfl2:

I can't believe your trip has come to an end.....
:sad2:

Congrats on your new ticker! I loved CSR and I think we stayed in 8B which was a great location! :thumbsup2
I'll give that one to mom too to note on the reservation. Can't hurt to give them more options.

I'd be more nervous about what I'd do in a nice establishment.
I don't have to worry about that. I know that I'm going to come off as crude and unsophisticated. There's no "wild card" element about that at all. :lmao::rotfl2:

Woohoo! :woohoo: Glad you enjoyed it. There's nothing worse than recommending something to a friend and having them avoid talking to you about it afterwards. Not that it ever happens to me. :rolleyes1
I think we've clearly established similar tastes in food over the course of reading some of your TR's. You've proven yourself to me and I will gladly take your food advice.:thumbsup2

Yes, but your dish was "gourmet".
Is gourmet French for tiny?:confused3

Been there, attempted to delay that. :sad1:
The worst part about a Disney vacation.

Because Mickey had tried to eat him on the previous day.
That must be it. I forgot about that detail.

Now that's the best idea I've heard yet! :thumbsup2
I was just waiting on the slightest indecision on DW's part and I'd have done it too.:rolleyes1

Sorry the trip is over already, and I'm glad you have a new one to look forward to. Thanks for taking us along on this one! Nice job on your first TR!
Thanks for reading along and commenting! It was a lot of fun.

Some Final Thoughts

When we decided to take this trip, we didn’t know what to expect. This was the first time DW and I had gone to Disney World with just the 2 of us. Add to that the fact that we’d have a toddler in tow and DW was pregnant, this was going to be an eye opening experience.

As far as doing Disney with a toddler goes, I’ve seen arguments for and against it. Personally, I’m glad we took him and I’d do it again. Everything didn’t go 100% according to plan, but life seldom does. We had fun, he had fun and we did it together. He might not remember this trip a few years down the road, but I can assure you that DW and I will and the memories will be fantastic.

We also had some concerns about going on this trip with DW being pregnant. She wasn’t sure she would be able to have fun if she couldn’t ride all of the rides. I knew if she didn’t have fun, I wouldn’t have fun. I told her we could put the trip on hold and just save the money to go in a couple of years, but she wanted to go anyway. It turned out very well. Even though she couldn’t go on the thrill rides, there was plenty for her to do, and she wanted to spend a lot of time resting and napping anyway, so I didn’t feel very guilty about going off to ride on my own.

Some of the things we learned:
  • Touring plans are useless. You have to have a strategy, but when you have a toddler, you WILL do what they dictate.
  • An expectant mother can have fun at Disney World. Rest, regular meals and plenty of water are a must.
  • Christmas decorations and themes at the parks are totally worth it if you can ever get there.
  • I’ve always been a fan of Disney Transportation, but driving to the parks with our stroller was so much nicer. Use of a Disney bus will be rare for us in the future. I loved the boats though.
  • Beverly is really not as bad as some people lead you to believe.
  • Le Cellier and Via Napoli really are as good as some people lead you to believe.
  • Pushing a stroller around Disney World isn’t all that bad. I hit exactly ZERO ankles over the course of the week. Not that I didn’t want to…:rolleyes1
  • If you have a toddler who doesn’t like loud noises, hearing protection is a lifesaver. There is no way we would have seen Illuminations or Fantasmic! without our earmuffs.
  • If we make an ADR for a character meal in December, it will be at the end of the week. That way we can have time to gauge his interest and cancel if necessary.

Random Items of Note:
  • We had a lot of firsts this trip. There is always something new to experience, and we got to try some new things. Some we’ll do again, others, maybe not. I know we’ll try to do a few new things this winter when we return.
  • Every good roadtrip has that one song that you keep getting on the radio. Every time you leave a radio station’s area and start scanning for a new station to listen to, there just seems to be one song that always pops up the whole trip. This trip it was Red Solo Cup.
  • We fully intended to make use of the baby care centers in the parks. In case you didn’t notice, there was no mention of them in the TR. We always ended up changing diapers in the nearest convenient restroom. I’m sure we’ll make use of them during our next trip.
  • Is it normal that as I was lying in bed last night after midnight, I paused on Beauty and the Beast when I was channel surfing? It has been a long time since I’ve seen that movie. Belle’s voice didn’t even sound like what I remembered. That was the main thing that I took away from my late night viewing of a Disney classic. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I’d like to thank all of you for following along with my sometimes rambling updates. I thoroughly loved reliving our trip through this medium. It was great to read all the feedback and thoughts from everyone along the way. Even if you just read along, but didn’t comment, I truly appreciate you taking the time just to read what I had to write. Don’t be afraid to pop in and say hi though.

A lot of the things that we did or tried to do came from ideas that I got from many of you. I spent a lot of time over the last year reading trip reports, particularly those involving toddlers. Thanks to all of you who have shared your ideas and experiences with me.

With that, I think I’ve said about all there is to say here. As I mentioned, we’re going to be returning to the World in December for an extended family trip with my parents and sisters. This trip is being planned by my mom, but since we’ll be preparing for a trip with a toddler and an infant, I’ll probably go ahead and write a PTR. I might need a sounding board just to keep me sane and reassure me that we’re going to be ok. Additionally, Mom wants my sister and I to figure out ADR’s for the trip, so there will be a little bit of planning to write about. If you’re interested in following along on another PTR with me here it is.

Awww, I'm so sad that it's over! :sad1:

I really enjoyed reading all about your family's vacation. I think y'all did a great job with having a toddler on this trip & I have no doubt that y'all will do just fine with an infant added to the mix this December! :thumbsup2

I love your final thoughts! I agree with everything you wrote, especially about being glad y'all took a toddler. Even if he doesn't remember everything, you'll always have pictures to show him & you & your wife will have some wonderful treasured memories. But DS may surprise you by what he remembers. Reid talks about both of his trips, even though the 1st one was when he was 2. He remembers things I don't! And I'm so glad I learned from you about the earmuffs for fireworks. Since Reid won't let me use earplugs on him, I'm definitely going to invest in these before we leave in September!

Thank you again for sharing your memories with us!

Now, I'm headed over to check in on the PTR! :goodvibes

Great recap, Andy. I thoroughly enjoyed your TR and looking forward to following along on the PTR.

I never believed those who said not to take "toddlers" to Disney World. We took both of our boys when they were first 18 months old, and they both still remember a few stand out things (Andy remembers "getting lost" with Mickey and Markie remembers being scared to death of Goofy!).

I think you did great on what you accomplished having a toddler and a pregnant wife on the trip.

Nice job Andy! Great recap and summary of learnings you had along the way.

Heading over to join the new PTR!
