9ish months later my trip is almost here. I'll have 3.5 days, with one day dedicated to downtown, the arts district & brewery row.
How do you break up your strip touring? I want to check out the hotels but don't have a lot of interest in shopping.
Another question is how much cash do you bring for tipping? Are there any cash only places? Or places that will charge a fee for using a credit card? I nearly always use my credit card at home and on vacation. I keep hearing that Las Vegas is cash town and there is someone wanting a tip every where you go.
I too try to exclusively use my credit cards and have found no places that are cash only, well except gambling, but even that can be easily done using a credit card in the sports book if wanted. Even tips for valet parking can be charged back to the room at Caesars and MGM properties. I usually only end up needing to tip using cash at the airport when using the skycap to check bags. Having said that I am not a big drinker, if you plan to take advantage of the free drinks while gambling you will want some tip money for the server.
As for breaking up my strip touring, we just walk from resort to resort. Might gamble a little bit at each resort, might just pass through, might grab a meal or snack.
For my next trip I have bought a coupon book from the Las Vegas Advisor,
https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/, and plan to take advantage of 25+ of the coupons. We will spend one day in downtown taking advantage of the Binions, Circa, the D, Downtown Grand, El Cortez, 4 Queens, Golden Gate, Plazy, and Mob Museum coupons. Then another day we will focus on the off strip resorts taking advantage of our rental car. I hope to get $300 or so in value from the coupons.
Have a great trip!
