hola!

Alright let's get down to business..

Going back to wdw in 2 weeks and 4 days and it's my mission to try some things I would normally not try (because I stick to my favorites)

One of those things is (believe it or not) a Mickey shaped rice krispy treat!

I know.. it's shocking. But I've never had one. I ALWAYS get a cake pop or sugar cookie because I love the ones at Disney. But I always see people with Mickey shaped rice krispy treats and it's time I try one at Disney.

My question is, What is YOUR favorite flavor/toppings on the mickey rice krispy treat and where do you get it on property? (I've noticed some places have different ones)

Thanks!

My favorite place to get one is Goofy's Candy shop in Dosney Springs! You can pick your flavor chocolate, and topping! I had milk chocolate and m&ms and it was amazing! My husband got white chocolate and coconut and he loved it!

I love them! The only time I eat them is when I am at Disney. Like the pp said, Goofy's in Disney Springs is a great place to customize it. Also, if you are on the dining plan, it is considered a snack.

I did get one in Goofy's once, covered in chocolate and reeves pieces, which was cool, but, the regular ones are actually best. IMO

I absolutely love the ones that come pre-wrapped with the chocolate dipped ears and the colorful sprinkles. I am crazy about them. I dream about them. I miss them. I am getting one (or seven) in three days!!!

I love those ones so much! My parents live about an hour from WDW so every few months they go there, buy me a handful and then mail them to me. Best mail day ever!

It looks like goofys it is! Thanks everyone for your replies. I'm excited to try some new things

I am a purist...I love the ones with the chocolate dipped ears & multi colored Mickey sprinkles. But they have to be on a stick not the pre packaged ones.

DH loves the ones dipped in chocolate with mini peanut butter chips from Goofy's or the Confectionary.

Oh yes, definitely, on a stick!

Also a purist who is obsessed with them. We just got home yesterday and I ate one all four park days. And one on the ride home. Mickey dipped in chocolate and sprinkles.

The Mickey krispy treats on a stick with the chocolate dipped ears are my favorite Disney treat. I've tried so hard to replicate them at home. Cannot figure it out. I've tried extra butter. I've tried using some corn syrup. I've tried extra marshmallow mixture. Can't get it! It's the texture that eludes me. They're soft. I just love them. So much. My brother used to get a giant Mickey krispy at the start of his vacations to keep in his room for snacking. Genius. I'm doing this when we go back. May buy 2 just for good measure.

I am so glad this is not just me. I have tried EVERYTHING. I even bought a mickey head mould and everything. I can't figure it out.

They are not something we can buy over here so, my family are less on board... I am trying to convince them, but it is not easy with me having no idea how they are made.

They don't use butter at WDW (nor does Selma's). They use margarine. That's all you have to do. Also, not corn syrup, but INVERT sugar syrup (which is a special baking product).

I don't like the Disney ones because they have a fake chemical taste to them from the margarine. I don't eat margarine at all. I prefer krispy treats homemade with real butter. But if you want them to taste like Disney's and be soft, use the cheapest margarine you can find and some invert sugar syrup.

Technically, it is not legal to sell margarine here. There is spread that might work, but, in any event, I don't actually know how to make them in any way, I just experiment, mine are always too soft (but I only usually use marshmallow, butter and brown sugar, which is clearly way out)

3 Tablespoons Butter
12 oz marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies.

Melt butter. Add marshmallows. Heat on low until melted, stirring constantly. Pour in cereal. Fold mixture together to coat the cereal. Pour into a rectangle baking pan that is greased or pour onto a large sheet of parchment paper. Spread until even, about one inch thick. Let cool. Cut.

They are seriously the easiest things to make and cost almost nothing compared to Disney ones.

Thank you so much! Like I said we don't have them here (kids here just make chocolate rice krispie "cake" where you just stir rice krispies into melted chocolate.) I shall be trying this out!
