We are staying at Ft. Wilderness. We will want to sneak away in the evenings for drinks -- where could we go for cocktails and fireworks viewing?

Boat on over to the Contemporary Resort. A couple of places to do that

California Grill is a great place to watch fireworks. They pipe music in which is super cool. You might also go to the Wave Lounge . There's an observation deck on the 4th floor that also gives a great view. Enjoy!

Are there bars, so we could just grab drinks and hang for a bit without a reservation? Or even grab drinks and head to the observation deck?

Trader Sam's/Tiki Terrace at Polynesian would be my first choice! You could enjoy a drink on the terrace then walk out to the 'beach' to watch the fireworks.

I would also recommend AbracadaBar at the Boardwalk if you have the chance... no fireworks viewing, but great cocktails and theming.

Fireworks viewing isn't the best from Wilderness Lodge, but Territory Lounge is a great place to grab a drink and some apps. The new Geyser point also looks great and has outdoor seating, which is a rarity in disney. But sadly no fireworks views, but you are just a quick boat ride back to the Fort

Thanks! That helps. Traveling with grandparents so hoping we can get some adult time in the evenings! We never do!

I like this idea. Boat to Contemporary. Drinks at Outer Rim Lounge on the 4th floor, which has a balcony where you can watch the MK fireworks. There is another nice viewing area near the resort bus stop. They pump the HEA soundtrack into both of these spots.

I just got back from a trip to the Wilderness lodge, and you can see fireworks from Geyser Point. They even pipe in the music. And if you wait around about ten minutes, that electrical water pageant thing comes too

All great ideas! I love Geyser Point and am looking forward to being there at night (and watching the fireworks).
