Wow I wish I could pipe like that . My sugar cookies get sprinkles thrown on them and baked. A few candy cane ones get stripes with tube icing. The only thing I made this year was sugar cookies for gifts (and for my stomach) I really want to make no bakes though so I might do that on Friday but I’m not sure yet

Your cookies are gorgeous! I'm much too lazy to put all that work in--especially the way my gang swills down cookies. It would make me cry to see my work decimated! The only thing I made this year was sugar cookies for gifts (and for my stomach) I really want to make no bakes though so I might do that on Friday but I’m not sure yet

A few years ago, I screwed up and thought I'd share a "cookie of the day" with our workplaces (two schools, a university, and an Air Force squadron), starting on Dec. 1 and lasting until school's out for Christmas break. It has now become a tradition that people look forward to and share with new hires, starting in September. *laugh* The craziness has turned into 4-6 batches (somewhere between 12-15 dozens) of cookies each night! It's such fun to see people get excited over the cookies that it makes all the work and expense worth it.
My family and coworkers love these: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/10402/the-best-rolled-sugar-cookies/
Don’t roll them too thin.

1/3 cup of milk

1 lb powder sugar, 1 stick of butter softened, 1 teaspoon vanilla , and milk to desired consistency
A few weeks ago there was a cookie thread and I posted that I only intended to make ONE batch of Spritz cookies with the Wilton cookie press with changeable discs.
Well, so much for that. I got myself on a cookie baking binge. So far I’ve made;
1. The Spritz cookies. (Mostly gone, might make another batch).
2. Flourless peanut butter cookies with Hershey kiss on top. (All gone, WILL make more).
3. Rolled sugar cookies cut into Christmas shapes with cutters then painstakingly hand-iced. Not Pinterest worthy, so no photos, but I’ll give myself a Ralphie C+ for execution. Sorry, @slo , the recipe I used is just OK. I found it online, but already deleted it. No better than what you’ve already tried, I imagine.)
4. Standard Snickerdoodles. ( My aunt’s recipe that I posted a few months ago for someone.)
5. Brown sugar cookies. Basically chocolate chip cookies without the chips.
6. Iced and sprinkled Anna Sette cookies.
7. Polish Kolaczki cookies. Rolled sugarless dough. Butter and cream cheese with egg and whatever flavor extract. Roll over lightly powdered sugar surface. Cut into squares. Put dollop of whatever flavor jam in center of square. Fold one set of diagonal ends over jam. Dust with powdered sugar when cool.
Some cookies from most batches are frozen to be thawed Christmas Eve or Day. I also have some frozen sugar cookie dough that can be used for various types.

Your cookies are just beautiful! Better than I have seen in the local bakeries. Your friends and family are so lucky to get your cookie gifts.Thank you. Since my mom passed away last year, I found that doing this gives me a way to kind of “space out” and decompress. It’s funny you say that though, I gave my cookies out at work yesterday and my boss says she won’t eat hers because it’s “too pretty” to eat. I want people to eat them though since I’ve also spent a lot of time trying different recipes and flavor combinations to ensure they are delicious as well.
At first I thought you did the reindeer. Love the plate. More colourful than me , like I said literally throw coloured sprinkles on the cookies and hope they stick. I do find sprinkles on the floor all the time…lolTwo examples of my sorry efforts at sugar cookie decorating. But they do taste good.

I didn’t have a piping bag or tips. Homemade icing applied with a small paint brush and toothpicks.
I do have some better ones that I’m saving for Christmas itself to show family. These rejects are for my own enjoyment.
