Let's Talk Backstage Tours!!!

Oooo... thanks for the heads up on this. I was going to book this tour for my June trip on one day when I will be solo. Do you think it's still worth doing? My family/friends will probably not want to pay this kind of money so going when I'm solo is ideal. Or maybe I should wait until after construction ends at AK and HS (would be cool to see some behind-the-scenes in the new lands). It's probably a once-in-a-lifetime or once-in-many-years kind of experience, so I want to do this when it's most worth it.
I definitely still felt it was worth it. If there was some way to know for sure they'd return to AK/HS when all construction is over I'd say wait but I'm not sure there is any way to ensure that. So I'd probably go ahead to give it a shot. As it was it was very interesting

As there is no guarantee as to what areas this tour will show on any given day, if you are interested taking the tour I say book it.

My DD and I did the Wild Africa Trek in March. It was about $200 each for that time of year. I thought it was great. It included a meal and photos of the Trek. We also walked on a footbridge over the crocodiles and saw several animals up close. We were able to stop on the Safari trail later but spend much longer than the Safari ride, so much more animal interactions. If you enjoy the animals, this is a good one.

AK is now offering much less expensive animal interactions now too. I know one is with elephants and is less than $50 for an hour. The Trek was 3 hours, and much more expensive.

I did the Keys to the Kingdom Tour a couple years ago and it was AMAZING. Totally worth the money. My mom and I are Disney obsessed and we learned so many new things.

I have done three tours at Walt Disney world
1. Keys to the kingdom
2. Marceline to magic
3. Undiscovered future world
I would have to say that my favorite out of the 3 was Marceline to magic because I absolutely love Walt Disney and being able to hear about his story from the beginning to what the parks have become today that was just the most amazing experience for me. My tour guide, Darlene, for Marceline to magic was absolutely phenomenal I just wanted her to keep speaking. I really loved the other 2 as well. The keys is the most expensive out of the 3 I've done and it was the longest and had the most backstage time. The keys while it does have a lot of history about the park it has lots to do with current park operation which was stellar! I also really really loved the undiscovered future world. You really get to see a lot of parts of Epcot that you weren't even aware existed! Learning about the history and what the idea of Epcot meant to Walt was great. Out of the 3 however the Marceline to magic just has to be my favorite. It was fairly inexpensive which was great, but there wasn't a super big amount of backstage time at all, so if that is your number one thing you would like to see I would recommend the keys. I hope this helps I want to be a Disney tour guide when I grow up :)

I have done KTTK, AK backstage "safari" (it has a new name now), and the all-day " Backstage Magic" tour that goes to all four parks.

KTTK was my absolute, followed closely by the AK tour. I would totally recommend both.

I didn't care for Backstage Magic. It was very expensive, took up an entire day, and much of the things we did weren't that interesting to me. But I would totally recommend the other two Ursa in a heartbeat.

We need to check in for our tour at MK at 7:45 am for our 8am tour.

Would it be possible to hit Starbucks on Main Street BEFORE the tour? Is it open before 8am?

What time does MK open that day? If it's 9:00 I don't think it's going to be open. If it's 8:00, it should be.

We did Behind the Magic a few years ago ... It was awesome. It was a full day and we were treated like VIPs and saw so much we never imagined. Coming up out of the utilidors to a private viewing area for the parade just as they were arriving ... Timing was perfect ... Was a bonus too. I loved seeing things like the wood shop, the store rooms, the parade vehicles, going underneath the American adventure. It was all wonderful and a really special experience. Sorry I don't remember how much it was but it was worth whatever we paid.
