I think we should start a campaign to get Disney to build a moderate hotel with Queen Size Beds! Both my teenagers sleep alone in double size beds at home. Don't they realize that family togetherness is going too far putting four people in 2 double beds! I wouldn't mind paying extra for the larger beds. So far each time we have stayed at all star sports. Was fine, but I have been reading about the loud kids and crowds. Making me wonder should we upgrade? I was going to get two rooms this next time. But I don't know. I hate paying extra for a moderate hotel and still have double size beds. We only get to go every two years. I am sure we are not the only family that would like to stay in one room but with bigger beds! What do you think? Have a great day!! Vote for thicker walls and larger beds! Who's with me????:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Get a delux if you want larger beds.

I couldn't agree more. ::yes:: On our upcoming trip we are spending half of our stay at CSR because DS really wants to try the Dig Site pool and the other half (at my insistence) we are staying at CR so that I will at least get some sleep. DH is a bed hog so sleeping in a double gives me about 4 inches of bed to sleep on.

I also wouldn't mind paying a little more to get 2 queen beds in a moderate. How about 2 queens in the moderates and 2 kings in the deluxes?:thewave:

I want a campaign for Deluxe resorts w/ fun themes like at the All-Stars & Pop Century. Those hotels look so fun, but I want my Deluxe amenities!

Yes a deluxe would be the answer, but I think the OP was asking for bigger beds in more affordable accomodations. I think there could be a happy medium somewhere.

I'd have to agree with Momxx5, There's a reason some of us do not reserve the Deluxe resorts, they are out of our budget. I would think there would be a happy medium too? Like $10 extra dollars per night for queen size beds. I don't know.

I DO know that we are already splurging some for the moderates compared to the values not to mention what we would be spending OFF property for a normal room with queen beds. Now, before someone gets offended please understand that I want to stay on property because to me it is worth it to have that extra bit of pixy dust and magic. All I'm saying is... It would be nice if the moderates had the option of paying just a little more for queen size beds. Actually, it would be ideal for us to have a king size bed with a sofa bed for my son. Do they have this at any of the moderates??

That's what you call a DVC one bedroom villa. That's where I stay. :)

We stay at Comfort Inns, Fairfields, Hamptons, Holiday etc a lot and many of these also only offer two double beds. I guess if you want the comfort of a larger bed, you really have to pay for it. Two kings in a delux would require a lot more room. Plus it would be pretty crowded in the moderates with two queen sized beds. Even in the DVC studios you usually only have a queen sized bed and a double sleeper sofa (except at OKW where you get two queens - and they are much larger space wise than the other DVC studios).

I also think that there should be queen beds in the moderates.
I can understand not having them at the value resorts but come on they really don't cost that much more money than the double beds. Also when staying at a Disney THEME resort you would think you would be getting a little better than double beds that you would find in some other hotel.
Don't get me wrong... LOVE the resorts and Disney but you do bring up a good point!:)

The rooms are smaller at the moderates, I don't think queen beds would fit.

Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge aren't much more than a moderate (with discounts) and they have queen beds. I think that even though they are classified as deluxe, they were intended to be a bridge between moderates and the more expensive deluxes. The rooms are not as big as the other deluxes.

Agreed. For a resort which supposedly caters to families, Disney sure makes it difficult if you have more than 4 in your family. Even if you buy into DVC, you have to (or are at least supposed to) book a room for 8 if you have more than 4 in your family. A moderate with two queen beds would definately be a welcome addition.

I agree, momxx5.

You're definitely paying for a lot more than just bigger beds when you stay at a deluxe (location, valet parking, room service, among many others). . . options that some people do not want, use or need while at Disney World. So why should one have to pay extra for these amenities just to get a bigger bed? Because that is ALL Disney offers to its guests, that's why.

After all, there are other affordable hotels across the nation that offer fewer amenities but still have queen size beds. . .this is not something that MUST be strictly limited to a "deluxe" resort.

Count me in on the BIGGER-BEDS-FOR-BETTER-PRICES campaign! ;-)

Maybe I should Jacuzzi Hop ;)

I've heard the Poly has hot jets in the pool on one side, but many said that it doesn't make up for a jacuzzi. Actually, I wish GF would have added one by their waterfall pool as well. They have one by the other pool but its usually pretty crowded, and when swimming in the waterfall pool, it's cold to walk back to your room if there is no jacuzzi nearby to jump into before the walk.

The only reason I haven't tried the Poly yet is the jacuzzi issue. Though I am considering splitting an upcoming stay bwt Poly and AKL to see why everyone loves the Poly so much (and will get my jacuzzi time in at AKL--which has the most wonderful ones :)).

Please keep the snide remarks in check here. There is no reason to get snippy with other posters.

The original poster was merely stating that it would be a nice option if they could get queen beds at the moderate resorts.

Yes, the WL and AKL if you stay in the standard view rooms are a "bridge" between Mod and Deluxe, but they are still out of the price range of some people. If you go to the other views then the pricing is in line with the other deluxe resorts.

I personally think that queen beds at the mod resorts would be a nice option (not likely to happen, but a nice thought.)

The whole point in staying at a Mod, OR a Value for that matter is because, belive it or not, there are alot of people in this world who cannot afford it. If EVERYONE could afford a Deluxe than don't you'd think we'd all be there with bells on our toes?

Speaking only for myself, we are a young family( me 24, dh 28), who own a home, have two small children,( 4, and 6) and I am a SAHM and also go to college. We are not at the point in our life where we can bump ourselfs up to Deluxe yet ( but have our fingers crossed for the future.. lol). I think it is God's good grace enough that we are able to go to Disney AT ALL so soon in our life. And I don't want to be snippy, but some in here have made it seem as though those that cannot afford it don't DESERVE comfort that those who can, have. If you want a bigger bed.. Go to a deluxe.... Well, some CAN'T.. but that doesn't mean that you don't wish that value or mod were given just a tad more than they do.. Maybe one queen with one double.. LOL... Think Managment would go for that idea;)

So yeah, just saw some snootyness, and thought I would put my .02 in.. I know that for me, the luxury of somthing like AKL is a long way off.. either that or two years of hard savings... But that doesn't mean that we DESERVE to be squahed like clowns in a clowncar.
