Honestly, this is just beyond ridiculous. Some people have far too much free time.

So, in case you hadn't heard, Krispy Kreme is giving away free donuts on Inauguration day. Press release:
"Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. (NYSE: KKD) is honoring American's sense of pride and freedom of choice on Inauguration Day, by offering a free doughnut of choice to every customer on this historic day, Jan. 20. By doing so, participating Krispy Kreme stores nationwide are making an oath to tasty goodies -- just another reminder of how oh-so-sweet 'free' can be."

Apparently the "American Life League" is very unhappy with the word choice of Krispy Kreme and had this to say:

"The next time you stare down a conveyor belt of slow-moving, hot, sugary glazed donuts at your local Krispy Kreme, you just might be supporting President-elect Barack Obama's radical support for abortion on demand - including his sweeping promise to sign the Freedom of Choice Act as soon as he steps in the Oval Office, Jan. 20."

I mean, really, are you kidding me? I get that people have their beliefs, and I may not agree etc, etc. But I think these folks are reading just a smidge too much into this.

Oh my:sad2: Too much time is correct:sad2:

People do it all the time. You wouldn't believe how many people won't shop at Wal-Mart.

I will not boycott Krispy Kreme for their political stance - I don't go there, anyway, but I would continue to go there if I usually did. I always bought Heintz ketchup even though I didn't like John Kerry. And I'll shop at Wal-Mart.

But if people want to choose where they buy stuff based on political crap, I say, "Have at it. Good luck."

Hookairs.

Yes, please do protest the abortion donuts. More free donuts for me!!! :goodvibes I don't care who I voted for if someone throws a free KK donut my way! ;)

It would make more sense to protest the donuts because of the obesity in America :upsidedow

Thanks up the rnotice. I haven't had a Krispy Kremee in years. Tuesday would be a good day to stop in and buy a few dozen for the class. :coffee:

This is ridiculous!!!! I love Krispy Kremes, I just wish the Fractured Prune where giving away their donuts!!!!!!!!

Mmmm, abortion doughnuts...

Seriously, are they going to boycott any TV station that covers the inauguration? Any store that has an inauguration sale? Please. How loony.

I don't think the announcement said anything deep and meaningful about their political stance... Perhaps vague mild support for the presidential office, but you certainly can't peg them with any particular topics, or any political stance, based on the donut news release.

Whoa. That's so convoluted I can't follow it. Seriously.

I'm pro choice and hate doughnuts, especially Krispy Kreme. LOL.

What would Jesus say?

"Dude, you are micromanaging my plan"

A smidge of an overreaction don't you think.

The press release used the word 'choice' and so they must be pro-abortion and broadcasting it to all by giving away free donuts. :rolleyes2

Even if you agree with the groups Pro Life stance to think free donuts on Tuesday had anything to do with reproductive rights is just nutty.

Krispy Kreme was trying to capitialize on the free Starbucks for voting and this is what they get.

But I don't care. I'm getting a free donut! :cheer2:

There are whackadoodles every where
I won't boycott them, because they want to do something nice
(even if I NOT an Obama supporter)
The only place I won't go to is Citgo.
I absoultely refuse to buy gas from there

That group does all sorts of nutty things.

They did a huge protest last year - THE PILL KILLS - basically they want all birth control pills illegal.

they (in my opinion) are whack-a-doodles

The thing is that when I opened this thread I thought you were calling donut holes "abortion donuts":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I all of a sudden got a visual on jelly filled donuts ...but I was sorry to see this is not a joke thread.:sad2:

I guess I'm no longer going to hell in a hand basket. Now it's a donut box. Ok, note made:rolleyes: .

You know what? Better they occupy themselves with this;) .It let's them blow off steam, and no one takes them seriously.:joker:
