Thank you, Claire!

A promotional $399 premium annual pass and a 10% merchandise discount for DVC Members?!! It feels like DVC members might be noticed, and maybe even valued again, after a long reign of being taken for granted.

(And please ignore this if you disagree, but I am very happy that the character of DeevyCee has been retired - although I wish the actress who played her a long and happy career playing someone else. She was just too over-the-top as a cartoon of a DVC owner for my taste, to the point where I felt patronized and insulted. I do know others' impressions may vary, so please - no flames.)

I know that DVC is a business, and the bottom line must rule, but I actually am getting the impression that things are looking up in the DVC offices! pixiedust:

I was rather pleased to see that video of her talking to we members. That's something the other heads of DVC did, that I never did that I recall.

That was great on her part. Just waiting to see what other perks are coming. She did say there were more cruise offers coming.

I'm happy with her leadership!:goodvibes

I like the "cruise specials." We are retiring within a year, and then, hopefully, we will be able to take advantage of them. I do like DCL cruises, but they are so expensive compared to other lines.

I thought it was amusing to see that the VP of DVC still wore a CM name tag with "Claire."

The PAP discount is nice. Unfortunately I already decided that 2013 will be a Disneyland year for us....perhaps that's the reason WDW Parks allowed the limited time DVC discount, to try to keep more members at WDW next year?

I'm happy about the PAP discount. We travel at times when the weather is unpredictable, so we have stopped visiting the water-parks. This pass will get us to a water-park, if we have a day of warm weather.

The cruise discount caused us to book our very first ever cruise. The Disney Fantasy was fabulous. We will be hoping for more opportunities to cruise with Disney Cruise Line. We can travel at the last minute, and as long as air fare is reasonable.

Wishing Ms. Bilby continued success and happiness with her career with the Company.

The President of the Disneyland Resort wears an oval white name tag with, "George" on it. Disney is a first name company. :)

Very excited about the annual pass discount - we are going in January and again in October, and had planned on just the regular APs, so now hubby gets his PAP at a price we can afford, and he can enjoy his 9 holes of golf every day! :thumbsup2 The 10% discount is okay too, except the PAP usually gets you 20% off, so the DVC discount is not going to matter for us.

I agree - Claire has done a lot to open the doors of communication between the members and the offices. The PAP offer and 10% discount are nice, and I certainly will use both :) I do wish they had also offered a discount on tickets we can extend to our guests during their stay with us.

Couldn't be happier with this promotion! I feel very fortunate to belong to DVC.
So, thank you Claire & DVC!!!

Wow this is the first time in years that I felt someone at DVC cared or valued us. I watched the video and was impressed. Now she has to follow thru but so far I am very happy with her... You know it takes very little make people feel like they aren't just a cash cow... I bet this offer will pay off big for all of Disney....:thumbsup2 You go girl:cheer2:

I was told this very thing earlier this morning! It was a pleasant surprise!

I was told that it runs October 1 to December 31.

You have from 10/1/12 - 12/31/12 to purchase your DVC PAP voucher. You have until 12/31/13 to activate the voucher.

I am happy with the two new promotions. It is correct that the DVC PAP will give us 20% off in Disney stores, but even having the 10% discount for DVC members will be great for those that don't get the pass! I hope that 10% discount doesn't have an expiration date!

Even though we are not planning a family vacation to WDW until 2014, this is a welcome sign. I like that Ms. Bilby "gets" the sense of community and family among DVC owners and has responded by encouraging that sentiment:grouphug:. The Sundown Mingle, opening TOTWL to all DVC Members and the Welcome Home Wednesday refurb are all signs that she is encouraging a sense of community among members. She is really making it start to feel like a "club" and not just a timeshare:hug:.

:thumbsup2

That is awesome! We were planning to go in 2014, but now we are thinking getting the voucher now, activating in 2013 on a short trip and then using for 2014.

That's what I would do if I were in your shoes! Who can go wrong with an extra trip to Disney?! :thumbsup2

Where's the LIKE button on here!! Don't you just wish you could just LIKE the comment made by the OP?? :wizard:
