I've gotta chime in on this one. I used to love my Orange Sherbet, I would eat it constantly growing up but one day a very special person in my life turned me on to the amazing Ben & Jerry's & i've been hooked on Half Baked ever since.

ever have the milkshakes at the 50's prime time cafe?

a chocolate milkshake there seems to be a half gallon of ice cream stirred up so it sort of fits through a straw but not really...you really have to eat it with a spoon.....

i'd consider those proper thick milkshakes....

is that a frappe?

and by the way, what's a malted?

I love the Ghiradelli hot fudge sundae (with mint ice cream). Also, at Cold Stone Creamery, I get chocolate ice cream with coconut and brownie pieces mixed in. It's sooo rich (can hardly eat a "like it" size), but heavenly!

It's a frappe (thick milkshake) with malted milk powder added for an extra yummy taste...here's the Wikipedia definition of malted milk powder...

Malted milk is a powdered food product made from a mixture of malted barley, wheat flour, and whole milk, which are evaporated until it forms a powder.

OOO, just got another craving...coffee frappe! Or a coffee malted!

I LOVE the strawberry sundaes at Bob Evans! Unfortunately (or fourtunately because I need to get back on Weight Watchers... ) it is only offered seasonally.

I found this topping recipe...one of my family's favorites

Banana Caramel Topping
1 jar (12-1/4 ounces) Caramel Ice Cream Topping
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
5 medium firm bananas, cut into 1/4 inch slices
1 teaspoon rum extract

Vanilla Ice Cream (I've used strawberry and Butter pecan...yummy too)

In a large saucepan, combine the ice cream topping, lemon juice, cinnamon and lemon peel. Cook and stir over medium heat until heated through.

Just before serving, stir in bananas and extract. Serve over ice cream
