Let the hold begin!

Okay so now I feel guilty complaining about the time I had to hold when you went through so much.

On another subject.......since this is my FIRST time doing this does Disney now send me a written copy of all the reservations that I made in the mail or something with the confirmation #'s on it. I was just wondering because I would like to see something in writing to make sure that they did not loose my reservations (like so many others have said).

Does anyone know if they do this?

Don't feel guilty! I'm thrilled for those who got thru without trouble. It just seems to be my luck in life!!

No, Disney does not send out any confirmation letters (unless something has change since August).

I type out my ADR confirmation numbers, dates and times in small print and then laminate it to keep in my daypack so I can keep track of where we are supposed to be on which day.

Ok....after reading about the recent difficulties regarding obtaining ADRs I elected to call in at 7:00am. We will be at the Poly from Aug 20-28th.

I was fortunate, I was only on hold for about 15 mins. I managed to get almost all of my ADRs. The whole process took about 35 - 40 minutes. I was hoping to get Ohana for our first night, however the best we can do was Aug 27th. The only availability for Dinner at Ohana between Aug 20-26th was an 8:55 slot. Personally the last thing I wanted to do is to eat at a buffet that time of night.

8/20 - Kona (5:15pm)
8/21 - Boma (7:30am)
8/22 - Kona (7:30 am), Tokyo Dining (5:30 pm)
8/23 - Chef Mickey's (7:30 am) & (6:10 pm)
8/24 - Ohana (7:40 am), Sci Fi Dining (11:15), House of Blues (6:30)
8/25 - Crystal Palace (8:05 pm)
8/26 - Tusker House (8:20 am)
8/27 - Kona (7:30 am), Ohana (5:25 pm)

The CM who assisted me was very helpful. Luckily I found this board so I had a head's up that making these reservations can be a very slow process. While my wait was nothing compared to others who have posted, I was still struck by how slow Disney's computers/systems are. I would assume that an organization that prides itself wishing everyone a "magical" day and overall first class customer service would have a state of the art reservation system. While I was waiting for the CM to respond to my various requests I pictured her typing on an old Commodore 64 computer and looking at black and white screen trying desperately to find an open time slot at Ohana earlier than 11:30 pm.

I am getting so nervous now that I am not going to get anything that I want. I am laying in bed at night awake thinking about what I am going to do if I can't get any of the ADR's that I want. This is my first trip and I want it to be perfect for DD's birthday.
