In less than two weeks, we'll be at the DGC for our daughters sweet 16th!!
Both kids are so thrilled...
both parents are so out of shape and MUST start walking TODAY to get ready for this :-)
I need good, open toe walking shoes.:dogdance:
Any suggestions?

The Countdown begins!

I think you'll get a ton of advice and really, you're the only ones that can decide what will work for you.

I have plantar fascitis and issues with my sciatic nerve. I never wear cheap shoes because I cannot. In the summer, I buy all my sandals from Bass because they don't irritate my feet. When we went to Disney, I wore Croc ballet flats and a pair of memory foam ballet flats from Lands End. Neither of those are open toed, but you may be able to find some open toe styles from Croc. I currently wear sketchers with memory foam, but I don't know what open toe options they may have for summer.

I just bought a pair of KEEN shoes and have been walking long distance for 1 1/2 weeks, daily and my feet have not hurt yet. I highly recommend them.

I just bought a pair of Sanuks, yoga sandals. And they are really comfortable. The bottom is yoga mat material and the straps is T-Shirt material. I wear them all day at work and have had no issues (teacher like 10,000 steps a day). I would also look into Teva and Chaco. I have heard really good things about those sandals. Mostly its a personal choice. Go to a store and try them on. If anywhere seems like it will bug at all do not buy them! Learned that lesson the hard way....

Nice job SMD finding that thread!

If you don't want to go through it all (but you probably should :)) my choices were the Mephisto Allrounder BAJANA http://www.mephistousa.com/c/womens-shoes_sport-shoes_allrounder-bajana
I have a really cute pink pair that I wear at DLR.

Also the ECCO used to be an "Old Lady" shoe and they make some adorable ones now! I just got these mocassins and they are GREAT! Look dressy but feel like a cloud!

Whichever shoes you pick, make sure to bring more than one pair on your trip. If your feet swell or if you do get a blister, having another pair of shoes can really help.

Crocs sandals are my favorites for the parks. You can get them for free shipping/free returns at shoes.com. When you get to the park, get the pair of slip on Mickey Mouse canvas loafer crocs only available in the parks I think. They are super comfy & really cute! Blister on the back of your foot until you break them in so switch after a few hours at first.
