The only thing I have to add is be careful about your dining credits. I did not realize on one trip when I had dining plans for both segments that I had planned on having a breakfast using a credit from our second hotel BEFORE I had checked in to the second hotel. We ended up having to pay for breakfast OOP.

The other thing was kind of a cute story....When my son was either seven or eight years old, we spent the first few days at Poly in a club level room before checking into a 1BR at BLT. I had thought that the family would be excited as BLT was so fresh and new then....but DS had gotten spoiled from concierge and wanted to know where he could obtain his "free soda." I had to break it to him that there was no concierge. He looked at my indignantly, "You have GOT to be kidding me!"

I really like the Marriott Policy of retaining access to one room until the next is ready even if a different resort in the same area. And for the doubters, yes they could do this and have rooms ready as soon as they do now with any effort (100% certain).

I don't think its really necessary for Disney since most people are not going to be in their rooms during the day. It adds complexity and process for the few people who would use room access, while for the majority of guests, there isn't a lot of inconvenience in spending the day in the park - that was what they were going to do anyway. Yeah, a lot of onsite guests might go back to the pool, but based on pool usage when we are there, it isn't the majority of people that are in the resort mid-day.

And from Disney's perspective, you don't spend money if you are in your room. You spend more when you are out in the parks - food, souvenirs, sunscreen.

It would be nice if they had a 4pm room guarantee where you knew you'd be in your room by then, and likewise a 4pm luggage transfer guarantee.
