Less than a week away...And I feel underprepared.....

Personally not counting on Disney to met any of their vague opening dates for new attractions/events, never have and when booked this trip several months ago did not select spring date (arriving May 31st) expecting Disney to be on time with anything new/revamped "spring openings". So having not counted or anticipated on it, never planned for it or worried about whether it would happen or not.

I know what you mean! We get there on Saturday and I've been obsessively going over my checklists and spreadsheets for the last three days with a vague feeling that I'm missing something. It doesn't help that I'm doing the planning for myself and three other people (none of whom have ever been to Disney for more than a single day) that keep throwing things at me that they want to do. Plus I'm giving the weather forecast the evil eye...80% chance of rain Saturday (our Epcot day) and 50% chance of rain Sunday (our HS day). Then Monday, our MK day, is going to be beautiful...I was already having second thoughts about going to MK on a Monday, and now with a pretty day that follows two crappy weather days? I'm fighting the urge to scrap my plans and switch our HS and MK days, but that would mean giving up ADRs that I really wanted (BOG for lunch on Monday) and...argh!

I know once we get there, it's going to be great and we're all going to have a wonderful time, but panicking in the week leading up to a Disney vacation is sort of par for the course for me.

Yep- We will be there Wed., May 25th and I feel so unprepared. We want a rental car and I haven't even booked that yet!

Just breath, it will be o.k. Don't panic about trying to give your friends a great experience, they will be a WDW, even if they don't ride a single ride and it rains every day, they will be a WDW so just plan to enjoy that. Don't try to overplan or make everything wonderful for everyone, it's impossible and it would be setting everyone up for disappointment. They are going to enjoy it and hopefully be very thankful for all the planning you did. We have taken a number of people for their first adult trips, they always ask us why we want to go to a kid's place when we are not kids. After about 30 minutes they understand and I don't plan a thing. Not even FPs until about a week out, more often than not the day before. We make it a point to point out the beauty, look up, stop and smell the roses (literally). We've had two people we've taken end up buying DVC when they told us before they went they knew they were going to hate it.

I feel ya!! I seem to always have anxiety before vacations about what may go wrong, especially a Disney trip!!

Relax!! You will be on vacation and not at work, so who cares if something doesn't go as planned. Things happen. The only things I worry about is the plane landing safely at MCO and then seeing my bags finally making it to our room.... After that I don't care. I have all I need to "chill"

Have fun!!

Our first park day isn't until June 3 (we check into AKL on 6/2) but we arrive in Orlando, staying offsite and visiting the waterparks (making use of our WP+M tickets on the cheap), shopping, etc on Monday 5/30. I feel under prepared too.

I've only been to WDW once and I just don't remember where everything is in the parks or what is close to what, etc. So, my husband (who's been many times) decided on our plan and FPs. I feel like I don't know what we're doing b/c looking at the list I don't know immediately if it's going back and forth across the park or what to expect really. I assume all is set.

I've mainly focused on the packing (which got majorly underway this weekend), food prep/options, etc.

I know what you mean. We leave Tuesday, and I feel like I'm forgetting something...
