I've been checking the weather every day and it seems thunder storms are the norm this time of year...we jet off on the 21st, will the weather change much ?
We are planning our first day to be at Blizzard Beach, are the thunderstorms all afternoon or just the regular half hour types ? If the weather doesn't improve we may need to totally re-schedule our itinerary !
very difficult to say what will happen, the weather these days is unpredictable (actually its always been unpredictable, we just have rubbish memories )
You will get a better idea around a week before you go.
Hi DH and i just got home this morning - should really try and get some shut eye but so much washing to do The weather this past fortnight has been fairly mixed - this was our 4th trip out during September and definately the wettest. We had one day which was a complete washout, the rest usually started out hot and sunny sometimes a bit cloudy but ended up raining either in the pm or evening. As others have said though - this is the norm for this time of year - when we left yesterday, they were saying to expect wetter weather over the next few days due to yet another tropical depression. Don't get to caught up on it though - you will still come home with a nice tan!!
Have a great time.
Hi
we got back last week and it rained a lot more than normal ( we always go Sept / Oct). 2 days it rained all day, and the afternoon showers generally lasted 2 hrs, but it was sooooo humid, but dont change your plans. you could be in Animal Kingdom and its raining buckets but if you go to Universal it could be sunny as sunny could be!!!!!!!
I wouldn't read too much into the forecasts. I get daily alerts to my inbox from Weather.com and they all say the same thing - scattered thunderstorms! If you check the "actuals" the following day, they often tell a different story. In any event, the weather can be very localised, so checking the forecast for, say, Orlando will give an overview for the area, but you may find that you completely avoid many of the storms.
I like to check out the Super Doppler at WESH (the local news channel).

This is so true. I always maintain that the weather is as unpredictable in Florida as it is here at home. Even so, I will admit to having a selective memory about past trips.
For the record, we were there this August and the weather was extremely unseasonable. Hot, yes, but no rain (really, no rain) and little humidity. Unfortunately, for those of you there now, I think you are getting what we missed out on.
Thanks for the advice and reassurance. We went in February last time and had a couple of chilly days but no rain, this time we chose October for the better weather !
It looks like there is a period of settled weather once thise showery band moves away coming up.
But of course, it can all change...
