Less than 2 weeks - and told the kids

We've got less than 2 weeks to go until our trip, and we opted to tell the kids this weekend. No real fanfare - we just worked it into conversation during dessert on Friday (Thanksgiving Round #2).

It's good we told them, because DD13 was a little worried about missing school and the make-up work she'll have to do. Both boys are excited - especially DS11.

Now it will be easier to pack, and we're having fun counting down until Dec 10th!

Crossing fingers the weather cooperates in PA so we get off the ground 12/10!

Glad you gave them a heads up since you have older kids missing school. With our surprise trip we did 10 days notice to the kids and that was good for everyone. Yes, makes it easier to pack too!
