Beautiful day for final packing and prep...on the road in less than 2 hours!! Trading these pretty trees of CT for the palms and pines in FL. Let's get to Fort Wilderness :cool1:

Holiday roa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh oh oh oh....Holiday roa-oh oh oh h oh oh oh oad!

Off to bed at Jacksonville North KOA for the night...quick in to Fort in AM!

Good night!

Made it around noon. Set up in 1411. Not a bad site...but would have taken one closer to comfort station as I like to shower there...some nice open ones near there, but just took what was assigned...would have driven around and asked to change in retrospect.

Went over to Hollywood Studios after set up and quick bite for Toy Story Mania and Tower of Terror. Saw the Frozen fireworks show which was great!

EPCOT tomorrow. Maybe some Fort pool. We'll see what goes on.

Night night

Glad you made it in safe. Looking forward to hearing more.

Now what's up with this...both being silly, but the 8 year old is sitting in stroller??

4077,

So did you make it to Epcot today and if so is the Food & Wine festival still going on? Try anything tasty?

Bama Ed

Bama (and all),

EPCOT was good....we did have some F&W treats...

I had Kimchi Dog at South Korea and the Bratwurst on Pretzel Roll at Germany. My wife had Pork Slider at Hawaii. Our other treats were "always" treats....I had Margarita at Mexico (tri-flavor) and wife had the liquor infused Dole Whip.

As for day, when we arrived, two times on Soarin' and two times on Test Track...rest of day got done all we wanted to...inside at Innoventions for the heaviest rain of day. Had to "suit up" in the ponchos for steady light rain at Illuminations, but not to bad all around. Figure it at least is helping keep the squashed love bugs from completely cementing themselves to front of trailer!

Dinner was back at the Land (more treats would've been good, but Mac and Cheese with yogurt, Applesauce, cookie works good for the kiddos). I actually liked my quinoa salad and five bean soup there.

Of course, we made early AK breakfast reservation (8 AM, in line now) after late arrival home from EPCOT...lol.

Happy Day! Don't get too tired out having fun! I
It's great to see bits of blue sky in your pics. Is it very hot/warm/humid afternoons, right now?

Very all of the above....afternoon rain/thunderstorms last two days. Really wet this afternoon as storms kept building just west of parks and moving east over us. Still, managed to get two rides each on the Mine Train and Big Thunder Mountain after coming over from Animal Kingdom. However, all on to back up shoes for tomorrow :)

At the 1400 loop laundry room right now...cast member just came down and gave me refund as one washer stopped before final spin cycle, so waiting for it to go through another wash before can dry. At least no early AM tomorrow.

Going for my birthday dinner at Liberty Tree tomorrow afternoon. Hope I might get chance to enjoy with dry feet...lol.

Thanks for taking us along with you! It sounds like crowd levels are great!

ETA: where did you end up staying on the first night on the road? We're putting together our plans for December and I'm leaning towards Carolina Crossroads, we've had a good stay there in the past.

Hey 4077,

Did you see this story about the DHS Backlot Tour closing Sept 27?

http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/Theme_Parks_Attractions/Studio_Backlot_Tour_at_Disney_s_Hollywood_Studios_closing_September_27.htm

Thought about you since your avatar is the Disney plane which is (or was) part of that tour. If possible I thought you might want to ride past it one more time for old time's sake to say "Goodbye".

From the satellite view it looks like the plane is between the Car Stunt Show viewing stand and good ol' Catastrophe Canyon. Ride it one more time and say goodbye to CC for me.

We did stay at KOA Fredericksburg, VA. However, left CT at 4 PM Friday afternoon, so could not go further... Was after midnight as it was. However, thinking of Crossroads for the ride home.

We did see that. I have that plane as my avatar as I am a pilot and thought his plane (a Gulfstream 1) was pretty cool. Have had chance to see it many times on the tour, but will be a virtual farewell, this time. I wonder, however, what will become of it next.......:scratchin:scratchin
