We are off in about 6 hours to start the drive to WDW, HURRAY! My daughter is sooo excited. She has gotten up at least 3 times for - a drink - a drink - and to put her little chart up on the fridge / it's a countdown to when we leave. I picked up a little cold/sinus problem but the doc got me in Friday morning, prescribed some meds and I'm getting better, I say with fingers crossed. It was last fall/winter when we started planning for this trip, made ressies in the spring, now it's finally here. Well, she just got up for another drink. We're loading up the van so we can just get in and leave in the morning.
A word of caution. We rented a minivan through Alamo's website at a discounted rate. Pick up on Sat 9th, return on monday 18th. When we got to the alamo, located in a car dealership, they said they didn't have anything for us. I said no I have a confirmed res, you better have something for us. I didn't make ressies with 2 other companies, with slightly higher discount rates, because you guys were in town. They also run a enterprise rental agency out of the dealership. They talked to alamo, talked to supervisors, and eventually we got a minivan for the quoted discountd rate. What a way to start our vacation. So, if you rent, you might want to call the actual place of pickup and verify that they have something available for you.
Okay I've vented, now we are ready to go! Me, wife, my mother, my princess daughter 5, and my nephew 9.
