I just read a blurb that they have cut way back on the Streetmosphere perfomers at DHS. The little mention said they had cut back to only the most distinct and reconizable characters. Has anyone been to DHS recently and noticed this? Are there alot fewer street performers?

I LOVE the Streetmosphere performers, they are one of my very favorite things at WDW. I love watching them interact with guests and I love watching their little skits. I would be very sad if they went away. :sad1:

On a side note, the cutbacks Disney is making are really starting to "scare" me. I understand the economy issue, but my fear is once things go away, even if intended to only be temporary, they won't ever come back.

I hope they kept "Paige Turner"....she is my DS5's FAVORITE! She was a really big hit with him when we were there last Sept.. and he absolutely LOVED her!:) I'm sure he's going to be looking for her when we go back this Sept. so I hope she's there. He will be very disappointed if she's not there.:sad2:

We were there two weeks ago and "Rosie" the cleaning lady was around. Planted a big kiss an my cheek and really hammed it up!!!!! I saw several other performers around as well. I would speculate they may have cut back hours as opposed to characters.

I hope not!!!! :scared1: :headache:  We love Streetmosphere! It's one of my favorite things about DHS :goodvibes

One of my favorites is Bubble LaMore (blonde in a lavendar dress, big hat)

My niece and I ran into her at the park enterance one trip and she was wonderful and very funny. I have great pictures. She kept telling my niece she could be a star. We chatted with her awhile and it was so fun...the rest of the day, every time she saw us, she came running over to us and "gossiped" about the people on the street. It was hilarious. Fast forward to our next trip ONE YEAR later and Bubbles came running up to my niece and I and told everyone "the Ohio girls are back!" To this day I can't believe she remembered us. Bubbles is awesome. :goodvibes

Is Bubbles the one who has the wooden duck? My DS5 loved her as well!

I hope not! In March, May & June there seemed to be as many as in trips past. They're an important part of the magic!

The Studios as far as RIDES.. Well they dont have many.. And Ive seen the shows..

The street actors, and that Rock Band by The Stunt Show is a Big Reason I love the Studios..

Heck..

Given the lack of fresh entertainment options at DHS, Streetmosphere is what makes a day at DHS actually entertaining. During my solo trip in April, I only snagged a few shots of the performers that I enjoyed, but here they are.

This is Rosie the Cleaning Lady with my trip mascot, Bubba Duck. Luckily, she didn't kiss him, or else he would still be wearing that lipstick!

This is Ms. Tutti Fruitti. We had a delightful conversation early in the morning on my way back to ride ToT. Bubba was much less frightened by her makeup too. ;)

I did not realize that this was quite such an unflattering pose at the time that I snapped the pic, but at least she is wearing suitable undergarments to be kicking up her heels.

Later in the day, I came across a bit of a scene. It was Officer Lester Manly, but he will tell you to just call him Les. ;) Anyway, I recognized the lady beside him and stopped what I was doing to enjoy their time out with the guests. It seems that Ms. Fruitti was in a bit of distress at this point.

See, people are not supposed to be on the grass and somehow, our aging starlet got a bit off the beaten path and then could not find her way off of the grass and into the street. Luckily, Officer Manly was there to serve and protect.

I have enjoyed so many Streetmosphere performances since our first trip in 2001. I can't imagine going to DHS without all of those talented folks out there making magic for us. DHS is just not the same without their talents.

We also some some streetmosphere characters but not alot. I mostly saw them in the morning before 11. I do remember seeing them more in previous trips. Sorry don't have any pics of them..

When we visit in December most of our DHS day will be spent following the Streetmosphere routines. Even my DAUGHTERS would rather watch them than any attraction in DHS.

We were there last Fri, all day. This was the only one we saw. FAY was still lingering, so maybe they didn't want to get wet...:confused3

Even in the rain last week, there was plenty of streetmosphere. Some of them moved inside or to a sheltered location, but they were there.
