There seems to be a number of ADRs that appear regularly, we have visited many of the 'main' restaurants and have formed our own favourites over the last couple of visits. However, for our next trip we would like to try somewhere new (only one as we are going for the favourites plus a fantasmic package as we have never seen the show yet.)

Looking at the menus we were considering Le Cellier and Coral Reef or a few which we don't seem to read much about - Maya Grill, The Plaza, Restauraunt Marrakesh, Captains Grille, Bluezoo.

We did like the look of Yachtsman's steakhouse but as we are likely to go straight from a theme park we are unlikely to be suitably dressed!!;)

Could anyone give me any views or recommendations on these destinations based on the fact that we are a family of four (DH and I eat anything, DS 10 will be visiting as an 'adult' for the first time likes most food has an intolerance with shellfish and DD is a real picky eater - meat and two veg girl - but at 6 will still be able to eat a kids meal)

Thank you.

My family and I like The Plaza. It is kind of a cross between TS and CS.The choices are sandwiches and burgers and the ice cream desserts are excellent:thumbsup2 .We find that if you have been trudging around MK all day you don't want a really big meal and this place delivers a smaller meal but with the added comfort of AIR CONDITIONING and wait staff.

If you are thinking Le Cellier make the ADR first thing in your 180 day window or you won't get it.

I would second the Plaza. I try to go there several times each vacation. Anyplace with huge ice cream sundaes is tops on my list! :thumbsup2

I like to go to the resort restaurants for lunch instead of breakfast or dinner. I always feel rushed at breakfast and dinner, but lunch always seems more leisurely. It can also make for a nice mid-day break from the parks without going all the way back to your hotel. The only park this doesn't work well for is AK. For example, from MK, visit CR, Poly or GF, and from Epcot or the Studios, visit any of the Epcot Resorts. Captain's Grille (formerly Yacht Club Galley) is always a favorite of mine if I'm in the area. Don't overlook the Swan and Dolphin restaurants when you're in the area.

I have eaten at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. If you have on nice jeans and nice top or polo, you'd be fine. Their dress code is business casual, and we did not feel out of place. The only restaurant on property I know of with a real strict dress code is Victoria and Alberts.

Are you using DDP? If so, bluezoo or any other S/D restaurant won't be covered with the plan. Regardless, you would definitely want to dress up a bit for bluezoo.

We usually shower & dress for dinner at the resorts, especially signature restaurants, but I'm not sure how many people do. I don't really pay attention to how others are dressed, as long as they don't smell sweaty. ;)

Now to your other choices..... It sounds like LC would be a good fit for you guys, if you can get an ADR. Unlike many, I don't think it's good enough to obsess over getting in. We also like The Plaza. It's more of a lunch spot for us, but would be a great light dinner too. (Think Beaches & Cream table service, if you've experienced that.) We do like it better than B&C though. It's lighter on the fried foods. I really enjoyed RM, but my DH & DS didn't like it as much. They thought most of the food tasted too sweet for appys & entrees. Since I could eat nothing but dessert 3 times a day, it was perfect for me. :teeth: Maybe it was what we ordered, but most things did taste like they had been dusted with sugar. FWIW, my family is very adventurous & will try anything once. If your family is that way, I'd go with RM. You don't find food like that everywhere, & the atmosphere is fun. We'll give it another try someday. Sorry, we haven't tried the others, so I can't help with those.

Our last trip (Aug. '07), we decided to try some new restaurants along with our favorites. We (myself, DW, DS 16, and DD 9) loved Marrekesh for dinner. The belly dancer came to the table and took our DD up to dance with her ! We also ate at the Coral Reef for the first time (our previous 2 trips it was closed), and we would do that again in a heartbeat ! Can't help you with the others as we have not tried them yet. We would highly recommend Marrekesh and Coral Reef. Good luck and have fun !! :thumbsup2

A restaurant that's not on your list but one we really enjoyed was Olivia's. It has a homey feel to it and I'm sure there'd be something on the menu everyone could enjoy.

Here are the three we've been to - Le Cellier has excellent food but is very hard to get ADRs for. Coral Reef gets a little noisy but we loved the food and atmosphere. Marrakesh - good food and entertainment, this ended up being a favorite for DH and my boys.
