Hi,

I plan on staying 9 nights at a value resort, can i take 7 days DDP ? I'll also take 7 days Magic your way... the other day i plan on going to SeaWorld, and the rest is getting there and coming back..

Is it allowed ?

I have trouble finding the cost of that 7 days for 2 adults and 2 kids would be how much for the DDP ?

Thanks

No if you book a complete 9 night package you would have to get 9 nights of DP. You could book a 7 night package with 7-9day tickets and 7 nights of DP and then book a 2 night room only. However your DP would expire at midnight your 8th day. The difference in price of the 7-9 day ticket is so minimal that I would get 9 days even if to only run over and ride a favorite ride, eat a favorite meal or snack, or see favorite parade or fireworks. So basically your DP free days would be at the end of your trip. I would just book the whole thing for 9 nights as it does not cost that much and then go to a signature restaurant or an extra TS or 2 to use up the credits. You could also use CS credits for breakfast--not quite as cost effective, but still not a bad deal.

Also your cost will vary depending on the time of year and age of kids. I think DP is 37.99 per adult 10 and up and 10.99 for kids 9 and under per night of stay. However, I think there might be a price increase for next year. You should be able to get all this info by trying to book the package you want on www.disneyworld.com. You do not have to purchase to get a a quote. If you are travelling on the first and last days you could also make those room only with a package in the middle. Again though this would not have huge savings, but would save some. It will add some hassel though because you have to check out and in again and do run the risk of having to change rooms.

The regular price for the Dining Plan will be $38.99 in 2007. The discounted rate for young children will remain $10.99.

As indicated, you must purchase the Dining Plan for every night of your reservation. The only way around that is to make separate reservations, however, remember that your credits associated with one specific reservation expire at midnight of the check-out day for that reservation.

Oh good !!

Few, ok now i'll have to decide how i use the tickets...
BTW i know it might not be worth it, but is it possible to use a TS credit at a CS restaurant ?

Oh one more question, these prices i have to add tax on that right ?
But then i don't have to leave tip or tax or anything at the table, just the credit is ok ?

Depends on the CM- some are allowing you to use a TS for a CS meal, others aren't. You could always use up your extra TS credits by eating at a Signature restaurant- they use 2 TS credits per person.

Tax is included on the prices, and you are right- you don't have to add a tip (unless you want to tip more than the 18% included in the DDP) or tax to the bill.

What about adding extra magic days. I think i'll need 7 (travel and Seaworld) but if i get there and the kids want to visit on the first day can i add a day with no added cost as if i bought it 8 days at first ??

What about the magical express, how does it work exactly ? It gets me from the airport to the Hotel ? At what times ?... i realize i am getting off-topic here, but i made myself a deadline to book this trip by friday ! So i might as well figure it out soon ;)

Honestly, check it out it will increase the cost of your tickets like $10 dollars total to add the extra days, if it were me I would risk the $10 and just have the extra days avail if I wanted to. But yes you can add the extra day for the amount of the difference with no extra fee once you are there.

ME-- you need to sign up for it when you book. They will send you special tags to put on your luggage, they are kind of like the stick together kind the airline puts on. This will alert MCO and ME to pick up your luggage and send it to your resort. When you get off the plane head to the ME counter and check in. They will then direct you to a line to wait in for a bus based on your resort. Before too long you will board the bus and it will drop you off at your resort. You bags will show up in your room later. When it was first running it was taking a while for the bags to come, I do not know how it is going now.

The 38.99 and 10.99 cost per night includes tax already, that is the total cost added to your package. And yes for your meal the tas and gratuity, 18% is included, you are not required to leave anything else. Some people do leave a little extra for good service or if they usuall tip more than 18%. I believe 18% gratuity will be added to anything extra you order, like alcohol or uncovered food.
Hope this info helps, Have a great trip. We love the ease of the DDP.

I was looking at the restaurants... not sure exactly how we'll do this but let me see if i get this right

i can go eat with my DH and my 2 DSs to Cap'n Jack's Restaurant and get

Shrimp Cocktail - With a Floridian Cocktail Sauce. - $10.99 DH
Spinach and Artichoke Dip - Served with tortilla chips. - $7.49 ME

Roast Chicken Breast - With creamed mushroom demi-glace, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. $16.99 ME
Twin Lobster Tails - With drawn butter, rice pilaf, and fresh veggies. - $31.99 DH

Double Chocolate Lave Cake - Served with ice cream. - $5.79 ME
Happiest Celebration on Earth Key Lime Pie - Key lime pie. - $4.29 DH

Rosemount Estate Chardonnay, Australia - Glass $7.25 DH
Water or Ice tea ?? ME

Chicken Sandwich - Served with macaroni and cheese and fruit. Includes soda, milk or juice. - $4.99 DS4
Hot Dog - Served with macaroni and cheese and fruit. Includes soda, milk or juice. - $4.99 DS6

2X Worms and Dirt Sundae - Gummi worms in a sundae - $3.29

And all that for 4 TS credit and 1 Snack credit ??

This equals 101.35 (and probably too much food??) and the plan only costs 99.96... which means we would already be saving and get 4 CS meals "free" and 3 more snacks !!!
Could this be real ????
I must have missed something, or i just picked out of luck the best restaurant to order from (which probably means i won't be able to get a reservation!)

To be clear, you'll be paying for the Chardonnay in cash -- alcoholic drinks aren't included in the Dining Plan.

And I don't think you can use a snack credit in a table service restaurant - and um, the Happiest Celebration on Earth dessert is probably gone (since that celebration is over) but other than that, yes.

But the rest is all included ???!

Can this be right ?

You can easily get a TS meal that costs more than the cost of the meal plan at most a la carte restaurants. An adult buffet, with tax and tip, is almost as much as the cost for the meal plan for the day. A kids buffet actually costs more than the cost of the dining plan.

The only thing missing from your analysis is food quality. Captain Jack's gets mixed reviews. Don't confuse menu price with food quality.

we have ressies for 5 nights at SSR and will pay for the DDP when we check in on the 10th. However, we have room only ressies for Dec 9 at POP and Dec 15 at ASMu. We are paying OOP for CM on the 9th and feel there will be CS to use until midnight on the 15th, if not we'll pay OOP for a few CS. We figured that we couldn't add it to our room only ressies. Is that correct? :confused3

You could theoretically have two separate Dining Plans, if both reservations were converted to MYW packages, but you'd have admission purchase requirements for EACH reservation.

Yep. We did pretty much just that last week -- except we had two orders of twin lobster tails (which were quite good, incidentally) + a kids meal for DD4-going-on-24.

The total bill was $117+. Our cost was 2 adult TSs and one child TS. Pretty hard to beat.

I can still get only 7 days passes ... right ??

But remember if you have 9 nights dining and 7 days park tickets the other 2 days of food will not be in the parks as you dont have the park tickets to enter - so you will have to eat outside the parks ;)

Your right, it's a great value. At the very least you would break even, many case you'd come out way ahead.
