Lesli's Live Long and Strong WISH Journal

It's raining shingles, hallelujah, it's raining shingles hey hey hey...(sorry, you got it stuck in my head... :teeth: )

Good job staying sane through all of the tension of yesterday. I'm sorry to hear about your DSis--hopefully things work out OK for her. At least for you this is almost over!

I like your method of dealing with DH! I may have to try that sometime... :earboy2:

No rain here--the only water that's hitting my lawn is the kind I'm paying dearly for!

Hope you have a wonderful day! :flower:

Method with dealing with DH...hmmmmmmmm. Well, he still went away and was gone for a good half of the day. By the time lunch rolled around, DSis and I felt like we were watching 100 children and that 50 of them were in their 30's. :rotfl2: We aren't sure who is worse, the men or the children. :confused3 So, I thought I better start looking up some flights to France (I did remind DH right before leaving that my trip looked better all the time as kids were at it at 7am pirate: ). After he came home, I told him I started looking and he asked if I found anything. I said "Not yet". He said "I'm sure you will". If I don't, I just may go back to BCV for a few days. :teeth: (Of course, in reality, this trip may be a few years in the planning, but don't tell him that. ;) )

Moving on. Back down to 203. AND I saw 201 sitting on the scale for longer than a brief moment. Hopefully tomorrow, but I am sure in the next few days.

Yesterday started out tense, but then BIL is very careful to not show his dumb side around DH. I hate to think that DSis will have to go through alot of garbage leaving him, but I know that one day she will (everyone has their limits and she is near hers). In the long run, she would do much better and I don't say that lightly. I watched one of my best friends go through a similar situation (too similar) twice. :sad2:

Well, the roofing is going much slower than planned. I mean much slower. Part of it is the heat, the other part (a big one) is the people BIL has helping him. They would rather look like they are working when he is not looking. pirate: But one guy left and another came on last night. This guy knows what he is doing, is good and is fast, from what DSis says. I hope so. I would love to see this done today.

Food. No AM snack. Lunch was lots of fresh fruit, 5 crackers & homemade chicken salad (that stuff is dangerous), and about 8 chips. We have way too many chips around now since we have company. PM snack was 3 crackers w/ chicken salad (thankfully it is all breast meat and other than the Kraft MW, there isn't anything fattening) :rolleyes1 . Supper was lots of fresh fruit, medium salad and about 4 chips. Water was 108 oz. Really not a bad day, but I do need to back off the chips. Oh, I forgot, I ate a glazed doughnut about 2:30pm. DSis was stressed and ate one so I followed suit. I didn't want it, I wasn't hungry for it, but actually seeing her eat it out of stress triggered the stress eating in me. Weird. Maybe it was that I was feeling bad for her and I caved. I will have to remember this next time. I can stay stronger through another person's weak moments, if I don't give in.

Took a nap after DH got home. DSis and I were so exhausted. It is up early around here at the moment and late to bed, but then everything else will wear you out. DSis left last night to take her kids to their grandma's, the guest kid to his grandma's, one of the guys back so he could get home for work today, and so that she could go home to rest before work today. I THINK, she will be back this afternoon, since she has tomorrow off. It just depends on how much gets done.

Breakfast: 1 slice 7 grain toast w/jelly, 1/2 c. watermelon, 2 strawberries, 6 grapes, 2 slices ham, and 1 c. tea w/jasmine.
AM snack: carrots
Lunch: chicken salad, lettuce, tomato
PM snack: yogurt (not getting enough milk in)
Supper: ? Don't know who will be here.

Goals for day:
1. Ignore the slowness of the project (DH is beginning to think that this is BIL's long weekend away from home.)
2. Pay bills
3. Bookwork
4. Exercise (just get up and move)

Time to get going. I have lots to do and I am really getting behind. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yikes! Nothing like holding summer camp at your house! Hopefully things quiet down now that some of the troops are going elsewhere.

Your DH sounds like a wise, wise man. :teeth: I'm sure you'll get that trip, one way or the other!

Glad to hear that you held it together through the tension of yesterday. Sounds like the lesson you learned from that doughnut may have even been worth the calories.

I hope you have a really great day today and that the work moves along well.

Stay cool!!! :cold:

You are absolutely right, Pearlieq! :cool1: I wasn't feeling guilty about the doughnut, just one of those things that I noticed. But now that you have put it in terms of the lesson was worth the calories, I feel even better. In reality the calories weren't worth it, but the lesson definitely was (even more so). What an interesting perspective.

Thanks for making my day even better. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

So, did you get any rain yesterday? I hear the storms were wild! Alas, we got none, but it is a little overcast today, so I've got my finger crossed!

I hope yesterday went well and everything got resolved/finished up without any major outbursts.

Have a wonderful day today!!! :flower:

Got up today and I am another lb. down, putting me at 202! That's 2lbs. from a new clippie and another mini-goal. That's 2.5 from ONEDERLAND! That's ONLY 52 from my goal! Whatever I lose after that will be a new goal. This is looking so real this time. I LOVE IT! And I must say, I am looking good and feeling good!

Well, yesterday was another long day with the roofing. It is hot and humid here which doesn't help. But I think that the guys are also dragging it out a little unnecessarily. Granted, I don't know the work, but I do know when there are more smoking breaks than work. Trying to keep the frustration under control. Another went home yesterday, so they now have 3. Thankfully, the main roof is finished. On the plus side, having the roofing done has released all the hot air from the attic. It was so opressive that we could feel it coming down into the second floor rooms. Why? Because some idiot decided to cover the vents with insulation. Of course when DH went to the attic, he had no clue where the vents were since they were covered. So now the insulation is removed and we had larger vents put in. Now I don't have to worry about a spontaneous fire in the attic due to heat. I just have to keep telling myself why this roofing project is a good thing.

They did run into a problem with the roof over my office (we have 1 main roof and 3 sm). The gutters have to come off so they can replace boards or they won't have anything to nail shingles to. We knew we would eventually have to replace the gutters, but I was hoping for this fall, not now. Guess it is time to start calling the gutter people. I don't know anyone who knows how to do it and BIL recommended that we use seemless, which makes sense. We can't complain too much since our house is over 54 years (we are second owners) and other than some basement seepage, which we stopped, this small problem with the roof is really the only major problem we have. Well, there is a small problem with plumbing on the second floor, but that is fixable once we remodel. Knock on wood, our house is very sound.

So they are back at it this morning, but unfortunately (to my frustration), they didn't start until 8:30am. Mind you they were sleeping 100 feet away from the project. pirate: Oh well. Looks like they will be here tomorrow and if they aren't done by tomorrow night, I will miss my Library Board dinner. I am not going without DH and be the only one without a spouse. AND, I am not leaving my children (mainly thinking teenage DD's) home when there are men that I am not very familiar with coming in and out of the house.

As far as me, I did get quite a bit done yesterday, although, I didn't get to the bookwork. I was definitely up and moving about alot. When I was on the phone, I walked around the house rather than just sit. Not much exercise, but it is better than being inactive. Missed the AM snack. Lunch was a little late and I had 1/2 c. chicken salad on a bed of romaine w/ 4 crackers. PM snack was 2 ritz PB crackers. Supper was a clean out the fridge, freezer, cupboards night. (I really need to shop). I ate a LC Spaghetti w/ meat sauce, mushrooms & basil, and a sm salad. Got in 108 oz water. Oh yeah, I did have about 8 chips somewhere around lunch.

Last night, we thought big storms were rolling in so DH and I went out to get things picked up out of the yard and to put the pop-up down (with less men, they aren't using it). I was so thrilled that I was able to be out there for quite awhile in that heat and didn't get wore out from the physical movement of bending over, picking things up, walking back and forth across the yard to put things away, etc. Then after that DH wanted to show me something and I noticed that I was walking fairly quickly. It was a better feeling than any scale can give. :cool1:

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/ cheese (too much, in the past I wouldn't have thought so, we were out of shredded and I used slices of hard cheese), 2 slices ham, 1 banana, 1 c. tea w/ vanilla
AM snack: carrots
Lunch: chicken salad on lettuce
PM snack: yogurt (if I go shopping & get groceries)
Supper: ? Don't know who will be here and what I have left to clean out.

Goals for day:
1. Keep the frustration levels down.
2. Bookwork
3. Exercise (just get up and move)
4. Pray for a miracle on the roofing progress

That's enough yakking for now. I will try to get back to doing my trip reports, but as you can see, my attention has been elsewhere. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi Lesli! :wave2:

Congratulations on your weight loss!!! That is wonderful! :Pinkbounc Before you know it, you'll be in Onederland!!!!! Go Lesli! :cheer2:

I hope that your roofers get your roof done soon. Here's a little :wizard: to help them get the job done faster!;) :teeth:

Have a great day today! :sunny:

Listen to that...............quiet.........peaceful............

Thankfully, the army left last night. They got off to a late start, but worked all day on trying to finish up the roofing (good thing it was cooler and overcast). BIL looked exhausted and then had to drive a little over an hour home. If the weather had been cooler when they started a few days ago, they would have been done sooner. Oh well. BIL has to come back in about a week when DSis is off work so that he can do the roof over our front door. It is really small and won't take him long. It will be just them and their children, which is much more manageable.

Yesterday, they had to rip off gutters and replace some boards over my office, so that took a little time. Other than that, we didn't find any problems. Well, a place where carpenter ants had been, but that looked old and is treatable. DH will have a guy come look at it in a few days. Better safe than sorry. The roof looks GREAT! I love it. We used architectual shingles (more durable) instead of the flat shingles. It gives the roof more texture and color dimension. It's slate grey which is much better than the one color charcoal grey that was up there. Now it looks like we really need to paint the house. BIL does great work and is such a perfectionist in his work. It is just unfortunate that you have to deal with his bruteness. But then he is only 31 and DH says men grow brains after 32. (No offense to the male readers). DH says that after 32, they start to realize that they aren't invincible and that they need to treat people better and not get so angry. Thank God, I didn't met DH before he got to that point. Glad I missed his temper moments (he agrees with this).

Moving on. I was up and about alot yesterday, but no dedicated exercise. Still, I was active. Last night, I walked the yard with a rolling magnet to pick up nails. At least I was moving. I did get caught up on some more stuff, but have more to go.

AM snack was missed. Lunch......well, I went and bought deli foods for the guys.......and it got me. Not bad, just some. I ended up eating 1.5 oz of barbecue beef on some Fritos scoops. :rolleyes1 It tasted so good and when I started, I didn't think it would be so bad, until I realized that I wasn't stopping. So I thought, time to go get my real lunch and prepared a plate with watermelon and chicken salad on a bed of romain. Well, I only ate about 1/4c. of each when I realized that I was full. Part of me said, but you made this good food, why waste it. The other part said, save it, you are not hungry, why make yourself miserable. So I wrapped it up and put it away. This I consider a personal success. I never would have done that in the "before". :cool1:

Then later I went back and ate 2 fritos, then ate a Kudos Snickers bar instead of good quality food for my PM snack. Then since DH and I were out helping with clean up of the roofing project, the two of us ate supper late. So he went up town and grabbed some hamburgers. At that point, I wasn't going to argue. It was probably close to 9:00pm when we ate. I had a hamburger (no cheese) and 5 fries. Then at 10pm, DH made popcorn and I ate 1 c. :rolleyes1 Shortly after that I decided to go to bed before I did more damage. Calorie wise, I still was with in my range for the day (maybe just over), so I am happy that it wasn't worse. Part of the off track eating was all the activity going on around here, part was probably stress, and part was TOM, I am sure.

Back to the drawing board. I want to do really well today since I have a dinner to attend tonight and I don't know what I will have. Actually, I am not sure if the food is planned or if we are ordering from the menu with a set limit. The library buys dinner for the retiring and incoming board members, so this is the first time that I have done this. But, if I watch myself, I think I will do just fine. Quality over quantity.

Breakfast: 1 c. raisin bran w/ 1/2c. milk (thought I would break from my usual, but this is not filling me well and it really is the same calories or more than my usuaul, but a lot less food, not really worth it.)
AM snack: watermelon
Lunch: chicken salad on romain and a few crackers
PM snack: yogurt
Supper: ? I will choose wisely

Goals for day:
1. Exercise (something dedicated, dance, walk, etc.)
2. Bookwork
3. Focus on eating for health, not just taste

Well, I better get going. There is so much to do. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Thank goodness the roofing is all but done! Glad to hear it looks good! It must be so nice to have your home and routine back!

So yesterday went a little off track. It's OK. Things happen. You usually run a pretty tight ship, so I have no doubt you'll be able to balance it out over the next couple of days.

Interesting point about what happens when guys get older. I agree wholeheartedly. My friends who are single have pretty much given up on trying to date men their own age--their maturity level has not kept pace at all! But, a lot of them are finding 30-something guys to be a lot more patient, level-headed, and responsible. It's like some kind of timer went off on them at 32ish and all of the sudden the realized that the entire world didn't revolve around them and their need for "fun". Anyway, just struck me as interesting.

Hope you have a great day! Enjoy your dinner tonight. You're going to do great--I have faith in you!!!

Hey Lesli

Congrats on the 202 weigh in! You are so close to the 100's isn't it exciting!

It is great to notice yourself getting things done quicker like when you were talking about picking up the yard. It is wonderful to not feel like life is passing you by(that's kinda how I felt "before" to use your terminlogy :teeth: ).

Celebrate Good Times!
Come on! :cool1:
Do do do do do do do do Yahoo! :cheer2:

Great job!

Oh yeah and guess what I weighed in today.
I am at 202 also! Yay!

Have a good day!

Oh my goodness, did you get that storm this morning?!?

Good news!  :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I found out yesterday that my papers for DAR membership were verified and approved! They will be issuing my national DAR number on July 5! I can't wait to get it. This has been a goal for over 20 years and finally, I am there. Alot of looking up info on dead people, but I really like it. I called my Gran right away. Too bad my Gramps wasn't still around as it was his line that got me the membership. He would have been so happy.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I did manage to get some things done, although I wasn't as active as the day before and didn't dedicate time to exercise. But I still managed to take breaks and move around.

It was really hot yesterday and I don't think the A/C ever quit running until early this morning. We actually got some rain! I am not sure that it will help the baby Sahara (yes, I upgraded from Mojave), but at least it is moisture and has cooled things off alot! Today, I have the doors and windows open for fresh air and the A/C hasn't kicked on yet. Strange weather from day to day.

Anyway, my food was really good yesterday. I missed the AM snack since I worked through it. Lunch was on plan and I added the watermelon to the meal. Very good, filling and light. Too bad, I am out of chicken salad. That stuff was dangerous, but good. I am pleased to say that I didn't go overboard with it and practiced the "it will still be there later, you don't have to eat it all now" policy. When I picked up some groceries, I was very tempted to pick up some chips, but I kept telling myself that they were not high quality and I didn't need them, so I walked on. (I hope that always works ;) ) When I got home, I was a little snacky, but managed to avoid anything bad. I kept telling myself that I was going to have a big meal for dinner. Finally, I decided to have my PM snack (which I contemplated skipping). Good thing I ate it becuase it kept all the snacky monsters at bay and I think allowed me to go to my dinner prepared. If I was very hungry when we went, I don't think I would have done well. (THIS IS A GREAT NOTE FOR FUTURE........A LITTLE YOGURT GOES A LONG WAYS IN MAINTAINING CONTROL  )

Dinner was at a small restaurant outside of the next town over. About 20 min drive. DH and I were early so we talked for a bit. It's nice to get away from the kids every once in a while. We ate at the restaurant once a few years ago when DH had to go to a referee dinner (he refs football on the side, kind of a hobby/sm job). Dinner was supposed to be at 6:30. There were only 7 of us (not 1/2 the party) there by that time. We waited and waited. Finally we sat. Then we waited some more. A few others came in and finally at 7pm, they decided that no one else would show so we started to order. The appetizers were quick, I ate 3 very sm fried mushrooms and 3 very small, more like pieces of fried cauliflower, could have had more, but quit, they were really over done. Service to take our orders was slow. Getting the dinners to the tables was even slower. It took a long time for that food to come out of the kitchen. :sad2: In the meantime, we went to the salad bar. I ate about 3/4 c. of shredded lettuce w/sm sprinkle of cheese, 1/4 c. cottage cheese, 3 peach slices, and 3 celery strips. Bread was passed around and I picked a sm piece of cornbread that amounted to 2 bites worth (I passed on the big white rolls  ) Finally dinner arrived. I ate about 2/3 of baked potato w/ little butter and little sour cream (not near what I used to) and 5 oz of top sirloin. I should have stopped eating the steak since it wasn't really that good. Everyone took home the food they didn't eat and I didn't want to take this home so I felt pressured to eat it because we kept hearing about how the board doesn't do these dinners often so take it when you can since we don't get any other compensation. Next time, I will not cave to pressure and I will put the left over piece in DH's take home box and throw it away when I get home. I also had a glass of tea and lots of water. All in all, I did great! Even according to fitday, it wasn't too bad. I am so proud of myself. :flower: I think DH and I won't go back to that restaurant, we just weren't impressed.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/ cheese, 1 slice ham, 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/ jelly, 3 strawberries, and 1 c. tea w/ jasmine (this is alot more food than yesterday's breakfast, much more balanced and less than 200 cal. High quality goes a long way, but I do need to change it up a bit)
AM snack: yogurt
Lunch: maybe a tuna wrap and salad
PM snack: smoothie
Supper: not sure

Goals for day:
1. Exercise
2. Bookwork
3. get caught up on trip reports

Well, I better get going. I am off to a late start today. Have a wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yay for you! :cool1: Congrats on doing well at your dinner! Don't worry too much about the steak--you know what to do next time!

Glad to hear your hard work paid off for the DAR membership. You sound really excited about that!

Hope you have a great day today! Stay cool!!!

Hey Lesli
Thanks for stopping by journal and encouraging me!

Congratulations on the DAR membership  !

You right about that yogurt thing. A little yogurt does go a long way :teeth: . Don't you just love yogurt. I love yogurt  . My favorite kind is Yoplait Light Blueberry, but Strawberry will do in a pinch.

Have a good day (or what's left of it anyways)!
:sunny:

Well, the scale reads 201! I am so close to Onederland that I can feel it! :cheer2: That makes me 1lb. from a new clippie and 1.5lbs. from the single digits!

I better get myself caught up with my trip reporting and my 3 month progress so that I can update my goals before it is time to do the 4 month progress and goals in about a week.

I didn't feel too good yesterday. My eyes were so dry that they hurt and it made me tired. So things weren't bad, but they weren't on plan either. Could have been much worse. (Glad it wasn't, or I would be here with a gain. ;) )

I did get some work done, but not near enough. Spent too much time on the computer. It happens when I am tired. I even sat and watched 2 soaps while I put my daily's together for the store. That is something I haven't done in a long time. When the kids are at school, I just turn up the volume so that I can hear the soaps, but yesterday, I watched them. It's good to relax every now and then I guess. Eventually, I took a nap and did feel better, but I still went to bed fairly early. For some reason, I am not sleeping well lately. It could be the heat, but I am thinking it is our old bed and with all the vacations and home repairs, that is not getting replaced for some time.

Food was good until lunch, which I ate a little late because I didn't stop my work. I was so hungry by then that I made the tuna wrap a little thicker and put some chips on the side. :sad2: You think I would learn. Then I was full, but tired and the PB was calling my name, so I had 2 Tbsp :earseek: . Then the chips were calling again and I was too tired to ignore, so I had some until, I practically threw the bag at DD15 and said "TAKE THEM AWAY, WHAT AM I DOING". Later, it was back to 1 Tbsp of PB. By then I decided to stop and take a nap before I did more damage, because the cheap chocolate was calling my name (didn't get those Godivas yet).

For supper, I wanted salad, green beans and chicken, but some of the family had chicken for lunch and wanted taco salad. DD17 proceeds to make it for supper, which was good, but when I got to the table, I find that she made stuff for tacos and didn't have the rest of the fixings for taco salad. :sad2: Guess she was trying to impress her beau. :confused3 So I mad the best of it and fixed a salad out of the ingredients, with a little bit of gr. beef. No taco shells for me. So all in all, I managed to salvage the day and not completely blow it. I did get munchie around 9pm, but managed to stave that off and went to bed shortly after.

Exercise? Just no energy, but I was up moving a bit.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/cheese (it kind of ended up slightly scrambled), 1 c. tea w/jasmine, 1/2 c. watermelon, and 1 pkg cream of wheat (nice change and still low cal)
AM snack: veggies
Lunch: tuna salad on romaine
PM snack: smoothie (I have all ingredients today)
Supper: chicken, salad, and gr. beans

Goals for day:
1. Exercise for 30 minutes (I want to keep up with my exercise challenge)
2. Bookwork
3. Catch up my journal for the missing days
4. Plan meals for next week

Well, I better get going. There is lots to do. Have a good day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Oh my goodness I'm so excited for you! You're so close to seeing that beautiful 199!!! Your hard work has been worth it!!! :cool1:

Sorry to hear you had the blahs yesterday. I hope you feel better soon! Take a nap, get some exercise, and take good care of yourself.

Have a great day! Enjoy the break from the heat!

201!!! That's awesome!!! You are doing so great! It sounds like you're more in control than you're giving yourself credit for.

(side note- my Dad used to ref local highschool football, and loved it!)

Have a great Friday!

I forgot to post my June challenges so that I can get rid of the clippies.

On the "5 for June" challenge, I lost 8/5 lbs. It would be great to lose 10lbs. in a month, but I will take what I can get. We will see about July since there aren't any extended trips or vacations.

On the "June Exercise" Challenge, I did 2235/1250 minutes. :cool1: All that walking in WDW and around DD17's college campus really helped with that one. I am going to try really hard to get into some type of dedicated exercise routine for July. I like being more active and I am sure that it has helped shed some lbs.

Time to take off the old clippies. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

LOOK! Down on the bottom! A new clippie!

I have officially lost 30lbs, since starting my program with WISH! It took just over 3 1/2 months, which is pretty good considering graduation chaos, trips, vacations, etc. :cool1: I am so happy. 200 lbs.! It is only .5lb. to ONEDERLAND! I can't wait! In some ways, I keep thinking "if I had known it was this easy to get down so quickly, I would have done it long ago." Not that it was easy, but it has been much easier this time around. The difference is really in the support and the fact that I really wanted this. I was just tired of being tired all the time and not feeling like myself. Now, I can see "me" coming back into the light again. It is amazing what taking off a few lbs. will do for you. :cool1:

Well, I was thinking about what Pearlieq and Christin said yesterday. You guys are right, I probably don't give myself enough credit for what I have accomplished and I have worked hard to get here. So, I am taking on a new attitude (or try to). I will not feel so bad about the small slips or a treat from time to time, becuase they are exactly that. I have been holding tight to the reigns on my eating and will continue to do so until I get to my goal, where I will let up a little. Since I have started this, I have learned alot about my habits, about foods, about triggers, etc. I have also learned how to get back on track after an indulgence. Not that I have perfected any of these things, mind you, but I need to let up on myself a little and recognize that I am doing what I set out to do. Thanks guys for making me see what I couldn't. :grouphug:

So, yesterday was a great day! I did get some work done and then in the afternoon, DH and I went shopping for store supplies. It was nice to get away. Lucky me, I had to use the bathroom at Staples and while walking back there saw that the file cabinet (matches my desk) was on clearance (25% off) and there was only one left still in the box, so I told DH and we picked it up. Not quite the store supplies he was expecting to get, but you have to grab these things when you can. Looks like Staples is discontinuing this line in the stores, so now I need to go to some of the other stores to watch for the bookcase, hutch, etc. Unfortunately, the cabinet will sit for now as there isn't any room in my office YET. We have to do some rearranging, but that is ok.

Started to miss the AM snack and couldn't find any veggies that I wanted, so I grabbed 2 crackers. It was close to lunch, which was according to plan, I just added 4 crackers to it. The PM snack was another story, however. :rolleyes1 DH and I were out so I couldn't make my smoothie. He wanted DQ and I wasn't really in the mood, trying not to slip up and all. Then I thought about what Pearlieq and Christin were trying to tell me and so I agreed to stop. We both had a sm vanilla cone. It's not B&C, but it was ok. It was nice to have a small treat and not worry too much about it. After I got home, I looked up the nutrition info and it was 230 cal. Not great, but tolerable, and I know next time that I will just get ice cream in a cup, skip the cone. The best part.....I didn't feel guilty, because I worked it into the plan. Now if I had gotten a med choc chip cookie dough blizzard at 1000+ cal, then that would be guilt. Smarter choices than in the "before". Supper was as planned, 3 oz grilled chicken breast w/honey teryaki marinade, sm salad, gr beans, and 1 sm crescent roll (a very filling meal). I still came out towards the lower end of my calorie range for the day, even with the treat and bread. I am beggining to see where I just have to make some adjustments to allow for off plan items. In the "before", I probably would have come home and had that smoothie anyway, even though I wasn't hungry for it.

After supper, we took a walk for 35 minutes. It was nice to have the whole family out in the cooler weather. I want to do it again tonight if possible. So, at least I started off my exercise challenge for this month the right way. :goodvibes

I got up early this morning, but unfortunately, not early enough since DD7 and DS were right behind. Still, I was not going to let them stop me from getting in a workout. BTW, I bought some new exercise clothes before going to WDW. The shorts are a large and were very snug then, but are looser now. About 10 more lbs and they will fit really good. But the thing is, these actually are exercise clothes and look good, they are not just a pair of comfy baggy grandma shorts and an oversized shirt. Anyway, yesterday, I bought 2 new DVDs. One is Crunch Cardio Salsa, since I thought it would be fun to learn some new dance steps. The other is The Goddess Workout, which is belly dancing, because I have always wanted to learn how to do it. Well, this morning, I tried belly dancing and I did get in 20 min before I had to stop. It's fun, but it is alot of work. I had a hard time keeping my arms in the air as long the DVD did. You also do use some muscles that you didn't really know you had, but it was fun. Let you know in a few months how DH likes my new workout. ;)

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/cheese, 1 c. green tea w/jasmine, 2 slices ham, and 1/2 slice 7 grain toast w/jelly (didn't eat it all)
AM snack: veggies
Lunch: I might splurge and have a brat on bun, since I am tired of chicken, but I don't know for sure
PM snack: smoothie
Supper: Maybe BLT's, fruit salad, lettuce salad, etc.

Goals for day:
1. Exercise (I did 20 min :cheer2: , would like to do another 20)
2. Bookwork
3. Plan what I will take to the family reunion tomorrow
4. Get pictures scanned from a familiy book to take back to the reunion
5. Just keep busy and stay off the DIS

Well, I better get going, I have some other catching up to do. When I get to ONEDERLAND, we are having a party and you all are invited. Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Congrats on the new clippie, Lesli. It looks faboo on you!!!!! Doing great! I think Crunch Cardio Salsa is cardio to a salsa beat, but I may be wrong. I think I know because I was making my workout WISH list and I checked out a bunch of different salsa tapes.

Keep going! When's the ONEderland party?
