Lesli's Live Long and Strong WISH Journal

Wow! You certainly have a lot going on today! I'm so sorry I missed you yesterday--the day really got away from me as well. It does sound like you did really well yesterday--good for you! :cool1:

You've accomplished an awful lot in 36 hours. I really hope you get time to relax and enjoy the parties tonight!

Sending lots of :wizard: to help you get it all done!!

Psst....are you awake...;)

I hope you get to sleep in tomorrow. :)

BTW- think back to how hectic Sept. was...4/5 is pretty good. Congratulations to you!!!

Hi Lesli!

Wow you have been doing a lot! But it seems getting a lot done too, which is great!! I hope that the moving wall display was good and that the troop got a lot out of seeing it. :)

Now as far as you mentioning Pizza Hut for dinner I know that is some kind of dirty Blue Team tactic to derail me after my craving this week!! ;) jk LOL

Hope that you have a great night!!!
Mike :goodvibes

I feel such a huge weight lifting off my shoulders now that this weekend is coming to a close. So many extra things that I needed to take care of are done or will be by the day's end.

Yesterday was extremely crazy and busy, but I made it through. Got the stuff done for GS to do their trips to the Moving Wall, finished the cake decorating about 20 min after the official party time. People kept calling me and some other things derailed me a bit, but it got done and no one complained. The party was nice, but I really don't like doing 2 at once (another reason why it took longer to finish cake decorating). DH was filming it as if he was watching a tennis match. First DS, then DD8, and back again. It was a good time though. I got everything cleaned up and then after DD15 and DH were done with work went to Pizza Hut (yes, Mike, I said PIZZA HUT ;) ) and then to Walmart so DD18 could pick up a few things.

Water was about 1/2 what it should be. Missed the AM snack. Had potato soup for lunch. Had a little frosting and cake tops (cut off to level) to taste. :rolleyes1 PM snack was 1/2 of a mini cake (sm serving). I am so thrilled that I stopped at that. Supper was another story. I ate 5 slices of pizza. Thankfully, they were thin slices and thin crust, but it was still a little excessive. All in all, a pretty good day.

I slept in a little this morning, then missed my breakfast since I got busy finishing up laundry. I even went throught the mismatched sock pile! Got more GS stuff ready for the wall. Saw DD18 off. DH and DS are driving her back. They should be close by now.

Breakfast: None.......this is really bad for me
AM snack: 2 slices ham
Lunch: 1 bowl of potato soup
PM snack: milk & banana
Supper: salad

Goals for day:
1. stick with plan
2. get in all water
3. 15 min exercise

Oh, I did do 10 minutes of walking yesterday! Off to a good start for the month, something is better than nothing.

Lots to do today. I need to do a little more GS, have a meeting tonight, and I want to get my office back in order. Then I need to do the bills and a little bookwork. That should just about finish off the day.

Better get going. Everyone have a nice day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

What?? No Pizza Hut tonight again? Now how can you support the Blue Team when you miss the team meetings at Pizza Hut???
;) :rotfl2:

Hope you can get that back on track again tomorrow!
Mike :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

WOW!! WHAT a WEEKEND!!!

You need Monday just to rest up!!

Sounds like all went well, tho!

Hope this week is a bit more relaxing for you and you can get back on track (I, personally, don't think you've been off, but I understand!)

Good morning, everyone! :goodvibes

I am a little tired this morning, but not bad. Another few minutes and I should be awake. Julie, I guess you are right, it is not quite accurate to say that I have been "off track". I guess I should say that I haven't been able to focus as much on my weightloss efforts as much as I would like to and as much as I did earlier in the year.

DD18 got back home alright yesterday, but on the way back home DH had some car problems. So it was touch and go as to whether or not he and DS would make it home or I would have to go get them. Thankfully, they made it home.

My office is 40% better. Hopefully, I can tackle more today. The meeting last night went alright, but it was way too long. Just another town built on a house of cards in terms of GS. It is beginning to crumble and will have to be built back up with in 2 years, I guarantee. Just one of those things that happen when one person wants to control everything. I can already see where this is starting to backfire. Oh well. It will work out, just a matter of time. It always just boggles my mind when people choose to do every little task rather than delegating. I may be very busy and very involved in many things, but I certainly know that I can't do it all 100% by myself. It's much easier to oversee some things, delegate others, and work along with others to get the job done.

Food was ok, but not as well rounded as it should have been. Water was about 1/2. I was on plan through lunch. The PM snack was a sm piece of cake. At the meeting I had a little candy. We were sampling the products the girls will be selling in a month. Supper was very late and I just decided to have some HC chicken and rice soup. Too tired to go through much prep work for salad. Oh, I also had 4 saltines with my soup and 2 bites of cake.

Back on track this morning.

Breakfast: 1 egg omelet w/moz, 2 slice ham, yogurt, the last few swallows of grapefruit juice
AM snack: grapes
Lunch: tuna wrap and sm salad
PM snack: milk and banana
Supper: potato soup

Goals for day
1. 15 min exercise
2. stay on plan
3. all my water

I did get in a 10 min walk yesterday. It may not be alot, but at least it is something extra in the excercise department.

Today, I am focusing on bills, bookwork and my office. Tonight I have a meeting with the Daisy parents to help get that troop off the ground.

Time to get going. It's going to be in the 90's today so time to find a lightwieght skirt. All of my shorts are too big now and in the pile that needs to go out.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Good morning, Lesli!!! :sunny:

Can you believe this heat? A little last taste of summer, I guess.

It sounds like you really accomplished a lot this weekend! Good for you!!! I hope it makes the coming week a bit more manageable.

It sounds like the parties were nice--I'm sure it was great having everyone home to celebrate together!

I'm glad the GS meeting went OK. I totally agree with you--once person wants to control everything and/or be martyr, and eventually circumstace shows that they can't handle it or keep it up. By that time, anyone that had been interesting in participating has been chased away and the whole thing must be rebuilt. Oy. I don't envy you watching that happen, but at least you seem to have it in perspective.

I hope you have a wonderful day today!!!

Hi, Leslie! I am glad to hear you survived the weekend! You accomplished so much! WOW!! I agree that I don't think it sounds like you are off track, and I think you have been doing a great job of getting in fruits and veggies.

I hope this week is a bit more relaxing for you (then again, anything would be compared to your weekend! ;) )

CONGRATS on having no shorts that fit. I bet that feels so good, right? I hope you found a nice, lightweight skirt with some elastic in the waist. If not, do what I do and put a pin at the top on the right or left side and wear a blouse that covers the top of the skirt! This works best if the skirt is "full" and you can hide the pins and the extra material!

Have a great day! :wizard:

Hi Lesli,

Glad to hear DD18 got back to school ok, I know very well the spectre of car torubles! hehe And Congrats-o-rama on having all your shorts being too big!!! How awesome is that?!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Don't forget to tomorrow is "Carry a Sack of Potatoes When You Weigh In Day"!! ;) (Go red team! hehe!)

Have a great night!!
Mike :goodvibes

Yesterday was pretty good and for the most part I did what I set out to do. :cool1: It was also nice not to run, run, run for something.

I worked alot in my office. Almost done with the bills so that I can leave on my trip. The Daisy meeting was short and sweet and they have things pretty well under control now, so that is one less thing that I have to worry about.

Water was only 1/2 what it should be. Didn't get exercise, what's new.

Missed the AM snack since I was running a few errands. Lunch changed to a slice taco pizza, thin crust. Someone at the last of the tuna. Food for the rest of the day was on plan. But then I had a piece of cake after supper. :rolleyes1 I could have done without that.

Breakfast: oatmeal & yogurt
Snack: banana
Lunch: salad - I will be out during lunch, so I am going to try to weight until I get home as there aren't many choices in the direction that I am going.
PM snack: veggies & cottage cheese
Supper: maybe a small steak, green beans, and salad

Goals for day
1. Exercise 15 min
2. Drink all my water - not taking time and only getting 1/2 is not doing me any good
3. a few errands
4. bookwork

I better get going. Lots to do.

Everyone have a great day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Yum! Steak and green beans...I may have to think in the same direction for dinner tomorrow.

Congrats on shrinking beyond the shorts; I bet you looked great in your flirty skirt!

Have a great day! :)

I hope you have a wonderful day today and are able to find something good for lunch!

Are you getting excited about the Atlanta trip? Are you all packed?

Take care and enjoy this :sunny: while it lasts!

Wow! You got a lot done yesterday!

Shorts too big? How cool is that!

Have a great day!

Stay OP!!

I'M BACK ON TRACK!!!!! :cool1:

The scale is back to 189, right where I left my ticker. It feels so good to be back in the 180's. I am staying here for a short time, no going back up! Even Atlanta is not going to derail me.

I did a lot of GS yesterday, took DS for his 3 year check at the Dr, shopped for a belt for him so he can wear his new pants, did some Genealogy research at the library, and ran to the auto parts for DH. That was all before noon. Then I went and got my haircut. Amazingly, I think it might actually be a good cut. I switched sylists, so we will see how this works out. Back home for more GS and other misc. things.

I forgot to mention that yesterday was DS's birthday. It was so nice to run errands with him. He is getting so big.

Food went fairly well. AM snack was missed. Lunch ended up being 1 chicken nugget and a couple of fries. It was just a tie me over at the time until I could get my salad, but when I got home, I ended up running different directions. Tried at 3pm to get my lunch and that didn't work. About 4pm, I was a little hungry, so I got a Tbsp of PB, that was the PM snack. I was afraid that if I ate too much that late, I wouldn't eat supper. DH was gone for supper, so I just ate a really nice and large salad. Later, I had a little popcorn, but it didn't taste too good so I stopped, then 1/2 Tbsp of PB to get rid of the popcorn taste.

Water was better. No dedicated exercise.

Breakfast: oatmeal & yogurt
AM snack: fruit
Lunch: maybe Chinese or maybe Panera
PM snack: veggies & cheese
Supper: green beans, salad, chicken or steak

Goals for day:
1. Water
2. Exercise - no more excuses, make the time, stop for 15 min to dance or something
3. Tie up loose ends before my trip
4. Pack for Atlanta

It's hard to believe that I am leaving tomorrow. Pretty exciting. I am not sure what extras there are to do in Atlanta in our free time. It would be nice to go see some old homes or something.

I better get going. There is alot to accomplish today.

Everyone have a wonderful day! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Have fun in Atlanta...it's such a pretty city! I lived there for 9 months right out of college...hated the traffic, loved the city. If you're in midtown, the Center for Puppetry Arts is really cool; they have a museum and great performances. The Coke-a-cola museum downtown is also a lot of fun...all of the stuff in that area, actually. And, there's great shopping at the malls like Lenox Square.

Congrats on getting back to 189!!! That's awesome!!!

Yesterday does sound like a very productive day. Happy Birthday to DS3!!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip to Altanta and get to do some sightseeing between commitments! Have you ever been there before?

Sending :wizard: for you to find some exercise time. You're worth it!!!

Have a wonderful day! :sunny:

AWESOME on getting back down to 189!!!! GREAT JOB Lesli. Keep up the good work.

I can't wait until you get back. Let me know how it goes and what it was like and most importantly - WHERE THE NEXT ONE WILL BE!!!!! I'm going regardless to the next one. So wish I was going to this one cause we'd probably get to meet. If you see June from Sybaquay Council - tell her Chris says hi - she is such a sweet person. Hope you get some great ideas and have a chance to speak up!!!!!

Have a great time Lesli.
Keep on
Chris

Yesterday was so busy. I ran errands with DH in the cities. Picked up a few more shirts at Penney's, where I ran into a great buy on luggage. They were discontinuing some of the Protocol green tapestry luggage to make room for the new stuff and I picked up a very very large suitcase for $40, normally $120. Also picked up a garment bag for $25, normally $75. :cool1: Now to find some other pieces to match, if not, that is ok. DH and I need some luggage. Gotta put those WDW souvenirs in something. ;)

Straightened up alot of my office trying to make sure that I get done those things that need my attention before I go. Walked around the Moving Wall with the family last night. Very sad that more people didn't show during the week. Most of the flowers laid at the wall were laid by GS. They may have chosen not to use our help, but our presence was known. Each flower had a tag that said "Girl Scout Troop X, Honors the Men and Women who served our Country". The girls and parents loved it. Maybe next time, the powers that be will realize that GS is a very powerful group that is always willing to help where needed...........Ok, off that sore subject.

Food was pretty good, but I didn't realize until the end of the day that I mostly ate soup. AM snack was a banana. Lunch was at Panera's, where I ate French Onion soup and bread, plus a few bites of DS's PB & J. PM snack was cottage cheese. Supper was the last of the potato soup. I should have only had 1 bowl, but I had 2. ;) Actually, I did great with the soup this time around. In the "before", I would eat 2-3 bowls a sitting and with the exception of last night, I only at 1 bowl per sitting this time. Later, I had a little jello and cool whip lite. Water was almost where it should be.

Breakfast: oatmeal & yogurt
AM snack: fruit
Lunch: salad
PM snack: cottage cheese
Supper: ? I don't think they will serve dinner on the plan, but could be wrong. If not, I will be eating late in Atlanta. Either way, I will make sensible choices.

Goals for day
1. Finish packing
2. Run a couple errands
3. Get my water in
4. Try to get in more reading for the convention

I can't believe I am leaving today. Also strange is the fact that I am leaving without any of my family coming along. It should be fun though.

My goals during the convention:
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Make smart food choices
3. If I choose a desert, make it one that is worth it, share when possible

I will be getting in plenty of walking so my exercise is taken care of.

No, I have never been to Atlanta, so this will be a first. We drove through on the way to WDW, but we never stopped.

Everyone have a great day! I probably won't be able to do any posting while I am gone, so I will give updates when I get back. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

What a great deal on the luggage! That sounds like a nice find.

I hope your flight goes smoothly today and you have a lot of fun in Atlanta. Hopefully there is good energy and lots of passionate, comitted folks for you to meet and bounce ideas off of.

Enjoy all the new stamina you'll have for walking around the center and doing nonstop meetings/events. These are the fruits of your labor.

We'll be thinking of you. Have a great time!

Sending some :wizard: to take with you!
