Hey all! I'm a frequent poster over at the camping board, but I like to come here to see what's new in the Disney/lesbian world. We (my boys and extended family/friends= 21 people) will be at Ft. Wilderness in 35 days (YAAAAY!!!). I've been too chicken to visit a lesbian bar by myself, but my sister, who's a bit more "social" than I am, has promised that she'd go with me if we can find one.

So, my question: Is there and where?

Okay, that's 2, but I made it into one (not grammatically correct, but it gets the point across :)).

Thanks!

Rose

Good luck with that one! The only one I know of is way on the other side of town, off of Lee Road, and is pretty, ummmmm......."Seedy".

Now who has some cash, cuz I got the perfect spot for a gay/castmember bar, I just need some investers!

I'm thinking classy, piano, video bar!

Oooh! That sounds awesome! Find some investors quick, Mike!

We're dying for a new place to hang out since they closed P.I.!

Sadly "seedy" is probably what we are used to in a lesbian bar. The guys bars are always so nice, ladies...not so much. :confused3

I just did some googling ( is that a word?) , what about Faces? I am asking, never been. I never venture outside of Disney when I am there, I am much to tired at the end of the day! ( That is what an Olivia cruise is for:laughing:)

Rose, where are you from in pa, if you dont mind me asking?

I am not from Orlando, but I think that there is a lesbian bar called Southern Nights there. I heard that it was nice, but I am not even a drinker so I didn't go to any bars while I was in Orlando.

I know that local lesbians have made this complaint as well. Wealthy lesbians with money to spend are often rather frustrated at the lack of choice of places to spend it in if looking for bars. Yet the fact is that women generally don't support bars. Even bars aimed at a heterosexual clientele often have "ladies nights," during which women get drinks half price and cover charges waived, etc. just to get anything approaching a gender balance.

Lesbian bars close at a rather fast rate too, but some establishments have been successful in the short term. I used to live above a bar downtown, which was lesbian one night per week. The line was always long that night. One night we had a group of sailors asking during Fleet Week about places to drink. I heard another man telling them to go to the bar below where I lived. I told them that that might not be the best choice for them because it was Code Blue on Wednesdays and that Code Blue was a women's bar. I don't know what turn-up truck he had just fallen off of, but one of the sailors then said to me "Well, women are what we are looking for" as if it would therefore make absolute sense for them to go to Code Blue. I still get amused when I remember that night, and it was years ago.

Rose, if you want to date lesbians, a bar is probably not the best place to start looking. It has been my observation that women are more likely to hang out in bakeries or anywhere else that chocolate flows more readily than alcohol.

Southern Nights is no longer open. That location is now "Revolution" if I recall correctly. And I don't think it's a lesbian bar. Most of their advertising features drag queens . . .
