Les Chefs de France / R &C for Illuminations?

OK, I'm in the process of lining up ADRs for our trip in October for just my DH and I as well as our whole family. I've seen Illuminations countless times but just from the walkways of the WS and never from any restaurant. I'm debating between Les Chefs de France and Rose and Crown Pub but I don't know which one to go to. I'm looking for advice on both of these.

Les Chefs de France: I'm wondering if it's just flat out too crowded.
Am I going to be one of hundreds trying to be there for Illuminations?

Rose & Crown: I haven't heard about the crowds during the fireworks, are they bad? or good?
If I do end up with patio seating, am I going to be livid when everyone from the dining room gets in my way when they go out on the patio?
Do I even know need to be on the patio?


For both:
Does anyone have a suggestion for when I should book for. I understand 30 minutes prior is obviously ideal but if everyone has booked from 1hr30m-15mn prior all has the same agenda to see the fireworks how would I possibly get a seat?

My Dh and I ate at Le Chefs Christmas of 2006. We made the reservations on a night that had EMH so it was open late anyways. Our reservation was for 8:30 or 8:45 Im not positive. But once we sat down and ordered our drinks Illuminations started and basically everyone had left to watch it so the restaurant was quiet. You have a decent view of the fireworks but I as unable to see the Globe, and we were sitting at a table right next to the window. If you arn't hard pressed to see the shoe on the globe it was really nice and of course the food was AMAZING!
I've never eaten at RC so Im sure someone else can give you info about that restaurant.
