Les Chefs de France question (and kids menu question)

Hi all,

We have a Chefs de France ressie, i'm a little worried with all the bad reviews on trip advisor but my kids have asked to go because they love, love all things French so we will be there since I already told them we were eating there. Has anyone eaten there recently - is it better than the trip advisor reviews imply?

Also, there are only three things on the kids menu, will they give the kids something off the menu (like mac and cheese or anything else)?

Thanks,
Marina :cutie:

We ate there last March and other than the waiters attitude we enjoyed it. I had the French Onion Soup and Adult's Mac and Cheese. Both can be a full meal since they are large servings so the kid's could certainly share the Mac and Cheese. That was the waiter's issue, he insisted I didn't want both since they were large portions, I politely told him I didn't have a problem not being able to eat it all,my money my decision.

We split up on our last extended family trip and my group avoided it b/c it has a dicey rep for food allergies, but my parents went and loved it! My dad likes practically everything, so he's not a great judge, but my mom is rather picky and was very happy with their meal. The reason they absolutely had to go was that it was the first table service Epcot restaurant we ever went to, back in the 80s, so to them, it is the epitome of Disney dining. I don't remember a kids' menu back then, but I do remember dessert! :)

We always end up with fewer TS credits than we need b/c of a 2-credit meal at some point, so I'd be inclined to just pay OOP for the kids' food if the kids' menu wasn't appealing to them at a particular restaurant.

I ate here in September 2015 and have eaten here several other times before. It has always been wonderful. Last visit our waiter was the best server in our 14 night trip of meals.

My nephew was technically an adult on the DDP but they let him get the chicken fingers on the kids menu. I know that isn't what you were asking about but I thought it may help to know they are willing to accommodate. I'm not sure if they are flexible to do a kids Mac and cheese but it can't hurt to ask. The adult Mac and cheese is large so the kids could share it. I highly recommend the lobster bisque, it was so good.

The Mac and Cheese on the menu is not the orange stuff most kids are used to, just be prepared for that.

We ate here last September and we absolutely loved it!
My husband was in no way looking forward to it but it was something I really wanted to try, so he went for me and it turned out to be one of his favorites of the trip:thumbsup2 and our waitress was just the sweetest. I got that dessert with the sorbet or whatever, which I didn't particularly like but it had those little Madeline cookies and I asked the waitress if I could get a couple of the to go and she said they were not allowed to do that but than she brought me a "To Go cup of coffee" with a few cookies in it. It was so nice of here.

We don't have any kids, so I don't really have any comments on the kids menu.
