Leonids

The moon is supposed to be very bright here during this meteor shower. That will dim the view some. I'm just hoping for clear skies

I clearly remember lying on my driveway last November in a sleeping bag and drinking some hot coffee watching a great display... I hope it clears out in time this year...it's cloudy here right now.
Thanks for posting!

...we would git along...splendily! :):)

I'm afraid we're gerna have too many cloud here on ter farm :(

Nice bright night here!

I'm setting the alarm for 5:15 am. Missed it last year, my middle son was so mad at me!!!

I think its all a hoax. ;) They were supposed to be the best between 5:00 & 6:00 am. I went jogging from about 5:20-5:50 and saw none! :(

Same here....stupid clouds....:(

I walked my dog at 5am and saw quite a few of them! The moon was very bright though.

I saw several, around 7 in 10 minutes....not as good as last year because of the full moon.

I was CRAZY!!!! I got up and spent 45 min in a sleeping bag on the ground!!! I saw 53 of them. I've always missed the shows before, so this was nice. However, now I am feeling a chill and a small head cold. But it was worth it!!!

I hate posting on this board, but I just have to share! I had a great viewing experience this year. I went out a few times, and saw a lot of really impressive ones between five and six AM. I even saw what looked like a bright fireball streak the sky, going from west to east. I must have just gotten lucky, because the sky had been pretty gray most of the early evening before midnight. It's an experience that I won't forget for a long time.

What are we going to do now? Shows over for the next 100 yrs. I'll certainly miss the leonids!:D

A very sleepy girl here, who got up at 4:00 to drive away from the lights. So a good show, so it was worth it.

My 7 yo DD woke me up at 4:45 (without an alarm) so we could go outside to see them. We were out for 1/2 hour but the cloud cover was too much for us to be able to see them. Heck, we couldn't even see the moon b/c of the clouds. At 5:30 I put back to bed a very disappointed little girl. :(

I got up this morning at 4:30, bundled up and headed outside. I saw about 10-15 a minute, but I would have seen alot more had the moon not been so BRIGHT! You could read by it:(
I was glad I got up early though, it was worth it:D And I sure appreciated getting to crawl back into bed for another hour:D Goofyposter and wvjules, I'm sorry you had too many clouds:(

I was up briefly at ~4am & figured we wouldn't be able to see anything because of the moon. When DD & I got up at 5:30, she looked out the window & saw a lot of clouds. Also, the moon had either set or was low enough to be behind heavy clouds.

We went outside anyway & once we got away from the security lights on the barns, we were fortunate to be able to see quite a few! It was a little hard on the neck, though, because these was only a small band of clear sky - straight up! ;)

I'm sorry some of you didn't get to see them. In the past couple of years, this is the first good time we've had with ANY of the meteor showers.

Was that fireball WHITE?? Cause I saw it too, as soon as I stepped out on my front porch.! I thought I was seeing things... I also saw quite a few too, not as many as last time though, and Yes that Moon was Bright!;)
