How long does it normally take to book PS over the phone?

Later this year, I'll be needing to book mine for my December trip (yes I like to think ahead which is why I'm thinking now ;)) but as I'm in the UK, it's going to be an expensive call if it takes too long, to the point where I might have to re-think my dining plans and take my chances on some days - just book my "must eats".

I'll be needing to book anything up to 8 tables (1 for each day I'm there) with a mixture of lunch time and evening meals.

Is there a good time to call when the queues on the phones are nice and short? I'd also like to try and avoid having to get up at silly o' clock as I'm 8 hours ahead of California time.

I only have experience booking one PS so I'm not an expert at how long it will take but it probably took about 5 minutes to do that. I think i called on a thursday afternoon around 2 or 3pm.

I was also going to suggest that you could call and make one, or two PS from home if you have a couple of ones you want to guarantee and then you could make the other ones once you get here. If your trip is earlier in December before the big crowds come then I would think it wouldn't be a problem to book just a few days ahead once you arrive at DLR. I don't know if that's possible if you're going during Christmas week though. To make our PS, I actually just called the day before we were going and got to pick any time I wanted but there were only 2 of us and it was during the week and not during a really busy time. My MIL called a week (or maybe less?) ahead of time for PS during spring break for a group of 10 and we were able to get in for those too. I've heard that the "competition" to get PS isn't as fierce as it is getting ADRs at WDW.

If it helps at all - my trip is from 12th - 19th December :goodvibes

I would call as soon as you can, to get the exact times you want, which is 60 days in advance I believe. That would be October, when I wouldn't expect it to be busy. I called last week to make our July reservations, first thing in the morning and I wasn't put on hold at all. I called the next afternoon to try to change our reservation day, and I waited on hold for 5+ minutes. HTH!

My (limited) experience is similar to the previous posters.

Last month I called on Mondays and Tuesdays, between 8:00 and 9:00am (Pacific Time), and I listened to Disney music for ~ 3 minutes (at most) before I spoke with a Dining CM. It wasn't bad at all.

When I called on a Saturday afternoon I listened to Disney music for about 20 minutes. Not sure if there are more callers on Saturday afternoons or if Disney has fewer CMs working the phones, but it might be better not calling on Saturday afternoons.

If your dates are December 12 to 19, then I recommend that you call on Monday, October 19, so that you can make all of the PSs for your entire trip with one phone call.

Hope this helps. :earsboy:

I called this morning at 744am pacific time and got right through no waiting at all!!
