Is it possible to see it all in one day and if not what are the things we do not want to miss.

What should we see/do first to avoid lines etc.

Thank you.

I've been 3 times and each time had no problem seeing and doing all. The first time we went around labor day or something, I remember is was some work holiday. The second 2 times we went on December 4th (we went for my daughter's 3rd and 5th birthday, all other Bdays were at DL)

We've been a lot of times--have passes--and it is certainly possible to do in one day. If you are there on a weekday, the crowds will be smaller; be sure to check what days they are closed, though. Much smaller and more relaxed than DL. The Driving School tends to get some of the longest lines (but still nothing compared to some DL rides), so I would go on that earlier. The same for the Technic roller coaster, though unfortunately those two are in opposite directions when you first come in! There are a few new rides we haven't been on yet, and I don't know about those. If you are there at a warm time and have kids, toss in a few small towels and maybe dry t-shirts, as there's a fun place to play in a water fountain. My kids and I think Boating School is neat; the boats are not on a track at all! There are some great walk-through exhibits that are rarely crowded but are very interesting even for younger kids. Also, when you are ready for a break, take advantage of the places where kids can sit and build with Lego or Duplo (including a place to build small race vehicles and race them against other people); this way you are still enjoying something special, but getting a break too. Miniland is fabulous, and most kids have a blast looking for the small details, like the shark that pops up near the scuba diver if you watch for several minutes.

We think the Knight's BBQ is about the best place for meals. It is pretty quick, and you get a lot for your money. The Sports Deck restaurant can be very, very slow (and I have a philosophical problem with it that I've shared with LL, because they only have photos of male athletes). Also, back by the BBQ is an absolutely fabulous huge play structure...again, a great spot for kids to let down w/ no waiting in line.

Sounds like a neat place.

Is it a good place for a solo adult to visit???

Well, I keep telling dh that we need to do an adults only trip one of these days! If you like Lego, I would say it definitely is; what they've done there with Lego bricks is phenomenal, and it is done in great detail and with lots of humor. For the observant adult, Miniland alone could probably occupy the better part of a day. Most of the rides are aimed at kids, but they still can be fun if you enjoy amusement parks. For example, the Kid Power Tower is fun and gives you a fabulous view!

I read in one of the guide books that there is a Mindstorm area that the kids can make something and then it will move (or something like that) but that you should reserve early or they will run out of spots?

Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so can you tell me about it please....our boys are 12 and 13 and even thought they really, really want to go, I am nervous that they will be disappointed.

They are really into Lego's.

The Mindstorm stuff looks very cool; my older ds isn't yet old enough, so we've not been in there. I've never heard of a problem with spaces running out, but it's certainly possible; I think you could just go sign up first thing (go to the right as you enter and in a minute or two you'll come to it) and not have to worry at all. The Mindstorm system is basically simple robotics, I believe, with some computer-programmed instructions involved. You will probably have the chance to buy whatever they build; in the other building places at LL that's the case, but it is a pretty darned expensive way to purchase.

One hint I forgot to mention before: do your shopping mid-day; the Big Store especially gets very crowded near park closing. Then, when you pay for the item, ask to check the bag. They will put an ID sticker on it and take it to a place right near the exit (where the stroller rentals are) and you can pick it up at the end of the day. Also, they will give you the rest of the sheet of the same number ID, so anything else you get you have the clerk put it on and all your pkgs will be together when you get them.

The Sky Coaster had the longest lines the 2x I have been there. The Spellbinder had long lines also. I would do these rides 1st thing, or be in line when the park closes. Also I believe I remember they close the lines about 15 mins before the posted closing time of the park.

Check hours before you go - believe they don't open until 10a.

The have a preferred parking lot that is much closer than regular parking & costs a few $$ more. Don't remember seeing trams in the parking lot. We used this parking both of our visits and was priceless at 9:30p when we were leaving for the day.

DH took about 140 :earseek: pics of Miniland with our digital camera!! That was his favorite part.

Spellbinder doesn't exist anymore; when it did, it certainly was the longest of all the lines. Sky Coaster I've found to be very variable; I think in the mornings it is not as bad (same thing for the boat ride through Miniland, which is wonderful).

To keep it in perspective on the parking, although there are no trams that I've ever seen, the worst spot in the LL parking lot would still be better than many I've ever had at DL, and it is a rare day that LL parking is that full. That said, it can be a long walk at the end of the day; if that happens, you might want to send one person for the car while the others wait closer to the front.

I made a huge Lego city once.. it was really cool. I'll have to see if we can get a day in there when we go over this winter.
