We went in December and spent a day there. We did not see everything, but my son could have stayed there for 3 days. I believe if you buy the tickets on-line from Legoland, you can get a better price. There is also two levels of parking at Legoland. You can park in the back forty or you can pay a little extra for Premium parking.
I let my kiddo just start going and let him lead the way. I would also try and go during the week. There park was not very busy at opening. The locals go on the weekend.
We are going in March, and I have done alot of research.
1. Please note that in the "off season" Legoland is NOT open every day so check their schedule for your visit.
2. There are currently buy one adult ticket get a free child's ticket promos. Don't know when this expires, but if you know for sure that you are going to go, I'd say buy them soon. The tickets apparently expire one year to the day that they are purchased:

My son just tonight opened a new Lego set and on the instruction sheet was a buy 1 adult get 1 child ticket free coupon. It expires 12-31-12. I would send it to you but we are actually going ourselves this fall. Just wanted to give you a heads up to look around for coupons.
I was wondering the same thing. I ordered mine yesterday and still havent gotten them. I added the email address to make sure they didnt go to junk. Let me know if anyone finds out anything.
Since you are going in June, you need to be mentally prepared to spend an entire day on the face of the sun. There is some shade but not much that is inside. I'd make sure to take a several bottles of water or at least a bottle you could fill from the fountain. You will need LOTS of water. They say no outside food or drinks but they aren't checking bags and the food options are limited. (generally we aren't rule breakers, but in this case it seems more of a suggestion)
Depending on the park hours, I'd consider leaving and going up the road for an hour and have lunch at chili's or something like that. If they are open from 9-7 you could leave from 1-3 and take a break in air conditioned car and have some lunch. It is about 5 minutes further up the road to a part of town with several reasonable options.
My kids also loved Legoland (they are almost 3 and 5), but we have gone off season, mid week. I'm not sure if it was busy or hot they would have had the same impression.
