We are visiting from Australia in April 2009. What do you think of legoland, should we include it in our trip? I will be travelling with my 3 girls aged 11,8 &7.

Thanks for any advice you can give me:yay:

Do they like Legos?

My son had a blast. He dug for Dino eggs, panned for gold, rode rides and thoroughly enjoyed himself! I'm afraid I don't have a girls perspective though.

There were small coasters and a neat 4d lego film and the themeing was pretty neat but for him it was about Bionicles and swords. There was a good variety for different ages and one of the rides you pick the speed, movement of your own seat, so it was great for everyone in our party daring and timid alike!

I hope someone with girls responds for a different perspective.

I love LegoLand. It is geared for younger kids, so you don't have flocks of teens being loud and pushy. My DD7 still loves LL, but we are likely to not join again...sad close to an era!!

I went with friends with age 9 and age 11 boys a few weeks ago and the boys were in HEAVEN!!!! A few years ago we went with a 12 year old girl and 10 year old boy and the 12 year old was completely bored out of her skull and was making it all hateful for the rest of us by torturing her younger brother!!

So, not sure about your oldest. Does she play well with the younger ones? If so, she will probably enjoy LL.

It is easily done in a day, things to do other than rides. Play with Legos for one!!!

So, if they like legos and get along well, you should enjoy LL!!

I am lucky, in that my eldest is not too 'pre teen' she loves new experiences and gets involved with young and old alike.:)

We took our girls when they were 1 & 4. We are going again this summer and they are now 8 & almost 11. The 8 year old I think will love it - the rides are probably perfect for her level of thrill. I think the older one will still enjoy it, but this will be our last time there as I feel next time she would be too old.

My 2 cents is that they will have fun!

We have friends who have younger kids and older ones, and they've indicated to us that they feel that there's just not enough for the older kids, that it's really geared towards toddler through younger school aged.
I personally have never been to Legoland. We're going on our first trip on May 3 as part of a great promotion. The entire family is going, including our two boys age 11 & 13, so I'll have a better perspective of my own by then.

We took our daughter to Legoland every year from the time she was 8 until she turned 11. She loved it and we always had a wonderful time there. Now that she's almost 13 she's definitely too old for it, but I think your kids will have a ball. Have fun!
