I hope this is an ok place to post this, we are planning on visiting Legoland in Windsor next October before heading over to DLRP and I was wondering if anyone has any experience there they could share?

We will probably arrive around lunchtime on the Thursday, stay the night, spend Friday there, stay Friday night and head to our next destination after breakfast on Saturday.

I've looked at trip advisor and there's really mixed reviews, some love it, a lot have complaints. Ironically the things some people think are fabulous are what others think are terrible!

Thanks in advance

We have annual passes to Legoland and have done for the last three years. We obviously like it, although we won't be renewing passes for next year just because we need a change.

When in October are you travelling? If it is during school half term then I would recommend a disney style strategy of getting there when it opens and getting the bigger rides done first.
They do offer a Q bot which is very expensive but I think is very similar to fast pass+ in that you pick a time for each ride and skip the main queue. I've never used this before though so not sure exactly how it works.

If you are travelling outside of school holidays you will have no problem with queues on any of the rides. Most would be a 5-10 minute wait, if that.

Let me know if you have any more questions, I'm happy to help. :-)

Thanks Pascalstongue, I'm sure I'll think of lots of questions for you!

We're going on 2/3 October - please tell me that's not half term! When is it half term by the way - I'm hoping we don't encounter it during our trip

I've often seen people complain about the parking charge, do you happen to know if it's free at the hotel, I've read somewhere it is and somewhere it isn't

I haven't been to Legoland for quite a few years now as my kids are older, but I do live nearby.

You will miss half term, as that is at the end of October. As you are planning to go midweek you should be ok, the park does close some days at that time of year, but it is listed as being open on the 2nd and 3rd. If you stay in Windsor there is a shuttle bus that goes to Legoland, it's opposite the theatre, next to the castle.

we used to love going to LEGOLAND when our son was younger, its a fab place and weve been many times.
We usually do the shop 1st thing as its usually manic at the end of the day.

We used to buy the kids meals, they were cheap in comparison to the adult meals and you still got a decent portion. Although weve not been for a couple of years, so could have changed.

Its a great place and im sure youll have fun. :thumbsup2
