Legoland-Is this fun?
My kids are 10-girl and 7-boy.
Is it mostly rides, or building things with Lego or what?

Sea World-How far from DLand? My hubby doesn't want to rent a car. What is the best way to get there? Shuttle? Cab?

Medieval Times-How far from Dland? Cost? Can you take a cab?

Knotts-How far from DLand? Fun? What about Knotts Waterslides? Can you go there in December,or is it too cold? Can you take a cab from Harbour Blvd?

We are trying to decide which of these things to do. We did Universal last time, so that isn't an option this time.
What would you recommend?

Thanks! :flower:

Legoland should be fun for both. There are things to build, but there are also rides. It's really neat, too, to walk around in Miniland and see all the things that are built from Legos. If you go in the summertime, they have some shows and the kids can play in fountains and get wet. Medieval Times is right down the street from Knott's. The cost is rather prohibitive, I think. It's something like $30-$40 I think. Both Knott's and MT are about 15 to 20 minutes up the freeway from Disneyland. The waterslides are closed in the winter. Sea World is about 2 hours south of Disneyland. My choice would be Legoland and Knott's, but I'm partial to both places. Don't know about transportation. I'm local, so I always have my car. Have fun, wherever you go.

You can get shuttles to almost anywhere (I'm not sure about MT, but a cab would take you there.) if you are willing to pay the cost. I find it is better to rent a car if you are going that many places so you can go and come on your own schedule and not be at the mercy of shuttles.

A few years ago, I went to Anaheim with DS. We did a short day at Knotts by shuttle before flying home at 6pm. I was a nervous wreck, worrying about if the shuttle would come on time to get us back to the hotel, and whether the shuttle would get us to the airport in time, etc... The only good thing was that I didn't have to navigate to those places on my own.

we went to seaworld but took one of the tours that we purchased at home. It was a big tour bus. They showed us a few things on the drive down and stopped at a supermarket on the way back. It was a 12hour day but well worth it if you don't have a car.

Is there enough to do at Seaworld to amuse you for the 9 or so hours you are there?
Is it a 1.5 hour bus ride to Seaworld? (from Harbour blvd)

We did Universal Studios last time and also will NOT be doing it again. My DH loved it but DD were border too death.
Anyway, we are doing Knotts again. It has a lot of roller coasters but also has lots to do for the little ones- Camp Snoopy and more. We like the western atmosphere there. It is not far from DL, I think about 20 minutes North. And Medievel Times is almost across the street from it. We have never been but will be trying it this time in 9 days.
As for Legoland, we have never been.
And Seaworld, it is nice but I don't want to drive that far when we have the Oregon Coast Aquarium only one hour away.
Hope this helps with a few of your questions!

I heard Legoland is great for the little kids to enjoy but after awhile it gets a little borin. My friend told me her little one enjoyed it for awhile but for the price of the ticket she doesn't know if she'll do it again.
Medieval Times is just right down the street from Knotts. I don't know much about Medieval Times. Knott's is good if you want to be close around the area and if your kids really enjoy rollercoasters. If they don't it wouldn't be worth it. Because there won't be much to do after awhile with kids that can't stand rollercoasters.
SeaWorld is fun. It's about 1.5 hrs south of DL. I like SeaWorld b/c I'm an ocean gal.. :) The shows are good and it's a great experience to touch the animals...like the dolphins at dolphin cove or the rays.
I'm from OC so I have my own car. It's really up to you...it depends where you go. Cabs can get costly after awhile...if your travelin to Legoland or Seaworld. If you can...a rental car would be easiest. So...it all depends on you...what you want to do and how much you are willing to spend.
I hope my thoughts will help you. Have a fun time when you go! :)

I think we will rent a car. Then we can go to Knotts, SeaWorld, The Pirate Supper, and wherever else we want to go.
We may go to San Diego, stay overnight there, and go to the zoo too.

Anyone have any opinions on the Wax museum?
