We are headed to Legoland just for this weekend (driving there friday and back Sunday-we live in az) and I have bought buy one day get the 2nd day free tickets but DH and i were entertaining the idea of maybe doing even SW one of the days. After purchasing them i started reading that Legoland is a one day park...Even with the kids. We don't want to rush Legoland, but i don't want to do Legoland Friday and be done with it. Our kids are 3, 7, and 9. Any thoughts on this?

I think it depends on your family's expectations and tastes. We took our kids to Legoland for the first time when they were 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 (9 years ago now, yikes!), and we did two days. For us that was perfect. It was our first theme park experience with the boys, and we liked watching them take it all in. We liked taking our time, being done with our day by 4 or 5 PM, and being able to go back the next day and repeat the kids' favorites. That being said, Legoland is a park geared to the younger set, and as an adult it can seem a little boring after the initial vicarious pleasure of seeing it all through your kids' eyes and after checking out all the cool Lego creations such as Miniland that first time. If this trip is mostly about the kids, I think you'll be fine and can definitely find enough for the kids to do for 1 1/2-2 days even without paying the upcharges to go to the adjacent Lego Sealife Aquarium or Lego waterpark. If you and your husband are looking for an experience that would also be appealing to you beyond appreciating your kids' enjoyment, then you might want to do something different that second day. Our family found one day to be adequate for Legoland on subsequent trips; you don't have time to do everything, but you can hit the highlights and then some.
