Legoland for Adults?

My DBF loves Legos (ever since he was a wee one). We are looking for possible things to do on the weekends before and after DL (my parents are visiting relatives during that time). My question is: how is Legoland for adults? I know that a lot of people think Disneyland is only for kids but I have had fun there with all adults. Is Legoland the same way? I looked at a list of the attractions, but it's hard to gage exactly how "adult-like" they are.

LegoLand is really an awesome park. All the things made of legos, (Darth Vader, Dinosaurs, a dalmatian, elephants...etc. miniland) are amzing to see as an adult. But since the park is aimed at the under 12 set, unless you have a kid in tow, the park would have little to entertain two adults beyond a few hours.

The rides are for kids. The technic coaster has one hill that scares people with rollar coaster fears, but there are certainly no thrill rides.

If admission were not so steep, it would be amusing for a few hours.

I have taken adults with free tickets since I am a member. We had a kid with us, but these adults didn't have their own kid, so they were seeing the park 100% as adults. (meaning not having a blast just because the child is). With them, we lasted about 3.5 hours, had seen all they wanted to. Both enjoyed the day, but said that had they paid $59 to get in, they would have been pretty disappointed!!

Others may disagree...and hopefully will chime in.

Thanks for your input. This is one of the only parks in SoCal I have not been to. We may opt for Universal Studios or Knott's instead.

The lego itself is amazing but as the other poster said there isn't any decent rides for adults so I would thoughts would be to give it a miss. I've been once and even though we enjoyed ourselves (with a 7 and 4 years) we wouldn't be in a hurry to go back.

Legoland is definitely for kids however we did go on quite a few rides with them. Legoland is a wonderful decompression day away from Disney. It is very lush and green with lots of shade and a much slower pace. We found our day there refreshing and a nice way to re-charge our batteries while still having fun!:goodvibes

Before I had my daughter I went with some adult friends and we did have a really fun time. Lots of the attractions are corny and fun. We got discount tickets through a Subway promotion. If you can get cheap tickets then it is worth it since adults are not able to entertain themselves all day. There is an outlet store right next door we went to during the afternoon then returned to the park later. If what you are interested in is thrill rides instead of just looking at the charm of the park then you should do Knotts or USH instead!

I can send you a disc with pictures of Mini land and all the lego type things. That will be much cheaper and just as enjoyable as going and it will save you $120.

Honestly even our kids (just turned 9 and almost 6) were bored by the rides. The ONLY neat thing we really enjoyed besides the lego structures was the humor in the egyptian play and the firetraining skit. My dh was very very disappointed.

Just thought I would share this great pic I took at Miniland. Hope no one is offended, I thought it was hilarious. It was taken at the Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas!

While we've gone with our kids, we really like it. Granted, it is not thrill rides. But, we love Miniland. I think that if you are into legos and if you go for the visual, it is a great place. If the rides really matter, than there isn't that much for you. Try to get a discount.

We took the kids last year and I probably wouldn't go as an adult alone. Just not enough to keep me entertained all day for that price. The park is definately for younger kids. If you can find cheap tickets, then it would be cool to see all that they can do with Legos. But if I was you, I would go somewhere else if possible. Take him to the Lego store instead.

yeah $59 is a lot for an adult to go. i haven't been and would go if it were a cheaper. but since im not a kid anymore i don't see the point in spending that much when there's no rides or really anything else there to entertain me for more than a couple hours. is there any stuff there that goes over the history of legos? like a museum? that would be kinda fun

there were a few signs that went over the history, and then a "factory" tour that had some interesting information.

I completely agree. We are members too, and have brought adults for free. They all say they're glad they didn't pay to get in. It is great for a few hours.

Ive always wanted to go to legoland, but the prices do seem so steep and I always presumed what everyone has said, mainly for kids, still really cool if you like lego, but for how long.

It is ashame the ticket prices are so steep, I have to think they maybe priced themselves out of a lot of peoples vacations. There are a lot of couples and grown adults that go to SoCal without kids for disney, if Legoland were less they may check it out just to look at it, but at 120 for two people and maybe transportation, eek. Maybe they could offer deeper discounts for buying ahead of time or something, maybe they're happy how much they make now, I wish I could go see it, but can't afford/justify it.
