Smart move. I still say it would have been smarter to build on west 192, but a good idea nonetheless.

The park has taken over the Cypress Gardens position in Winter Haven in Polk county.

No kidding! That's down there a ways. I had forgotten about Cypress Gardens. My inlaws went there on a trip we did with them about 8 years ago. They said it was very nice. That is where they had the famous female water skiers, right?

Well, I guess it is good that they reused the location.

Interesting! It's a lot cheaper than renting a car for the day, just not sure I want to be at the mercy of the bus. Also, how far is the outlet center from the Disney resorts (Beach Club to be exact)?
Thanks,
laurie

This is the information I was waiting for! I was just talking to my DH & wondering if some shuttle company will offer transportation to Legoland. We are looking into visiting Legoland in June 2012.

It appears the shuttle leaves from the Vineland ave location of the Orlando Premium outlets, that's the closest outlet to Disney and obviously the smarter choice. From the Beach Club it's not more than a 10 minute drive and about 5 from DTD,just exit Disney property via Hotel Plaza blvd.turn right on 535 going south, when you go under the I-4 overpass get over to the left lane and turn left on Vineland Ave where you'll see the outlets on your right. If you're coming from the far western end of Disney like AKL or the All Stars you could also jump on I-4 and exit at Apopka Vineland rd (535) exit 68 and then turn right and make the same left turn onto Vineland.

You are indeed correct about the water skiers.Hopefully they will make use of the ski area for some type of display .I agree better to use an existing place rather than build new .There is a park map

Yes...they had the water ski show and the southern belles wandering throughout the botanical gardens. I only went a couple of times in the 70's as a kid but remember the beautiful gardens and watching the skiing.

How much is parking at LL?

This might be a good solution to our dilemma. The boys and I want to go to LL one day but DH has a conference he has to attend that ends at noon. He has no transportation if we take the car.

But he could drop us off at the bus station at 8:30am and get to his meetings by 9am and have the car to get back to our hotel in the afternoon.

Thanks for sharing this.

Ok, editing.....I looked it up, $12 to park plus about 38 miles from our hotel. Our SUV gets 18mpg and would cost about $15 in gas plus $12 to park....so this is cheaper! Cool!
